24th Sep 2024 (16 weeks ago)The company is a very responsible company with enthusiastic and patient service. In August 2022, I was nearly 70 years old and came to Newcastle with my granddaughter who was not yet 15 years old to attend high school. The first difficult task was renting a house. The company's new manager received us and helped us choose a house. He was not afraid of trouble until he helped us find a satisfactory one. I rented it for two years and received meticulous care and assistance. Around Christmas of the first year, the warm air broke down in the evening and the weather was particularly cold. The company employees had already finished work. I called Manager Zeng, who arrived soon and personally repaired it until late at night, which moved us a lot. Due to my lack of English proficiency, Manager Zeng specifically designated a young employee named Xiaoqiu who can speak Chinese to contact me. Xiaoqiu is also very enthusiastic and responsible. I sincerely thank the new manager and his team of this company from the bottom of my heart!

All during the process, nothing was too much trouble and when we either rang or called in, we were always made welcome, it was like working with friends. Alison who was our main contact was very quick resolving and reassuring us with any queries we had. She made the whole process easy and stress free. This was the first house we have sold in over 40 years but have no hesitation in recommending this team. The staff all were all outstanding. Highly recommended A++++

7th Dec 2024 (5 weeks ago)They managed to find a buyer for our house which we had failed to sell on numerous occasions before. We got a price that enabled us to purchase another property with some money left over. They liaised very well between us and the buyers over queries we had and kept us informed. My only gripe was the continuity of personel as we had several different people involved at different times and I would have preferred one contact person throughout.

29th Oct 2024 (11 weeks ago)I was living in 17 kingfisher court Gateshead. Never ever go for that property. Both agency and owner are unresponsive and greedy for your deposit. The property looks good from view perspective but it’s not maintained deeply. I faced lots of issues and quality of furniture, broken bed, chairs, pathetic sofa. And living spaces dint listen to any repair. Bulbs were old and flickering. And at the end they will take your full deposit.

From sale and purchase through to completion they were professional, knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. Tess in particular handled our sale/purchase progression and was, without doubt, the most helpful and competent person we dealt with throughout any of the transactions. On so many occasions her knowledge helped us to keep the transactions progressing. She recognised our situation and did absolutely everything she could, going above and beyond, to support us at a very stressful time. Thanks very much!

29th Oct 2024 (11 weeks ago)Struggled to get anywhere with maintenance issues. Moved in July 2024 (around 5 months ago) and we still have outstanding maintenance issues to be fixed despite raising these issues through Hive’s maintenance system the first week we moved in. We have contacted multiple members of staff regarding these issues and half of them have been resolved after chasing them but the rest seems to be forgotten about. I have now gave up chasing for them to be fixed.
18th Mar 2024 (9 mo. ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

7th Jan 2025 (6 days ago)Very friendly and enthusiastic. Maybe a little over-optimistic about valuation and expectation of offers but excellent photos and communication. A little more expensive than other estate agents I consulted but I liked them the best and they have sold in my block before.
