22nd Feb 2025 (5 weeks ago)Avoid John Payne - acorn completely Dishonest and Unprofessional I strongly advise against using Acorns Property /John Payne estate ! They have refused to return my £1,500 deposit for 51 Gilbert Close since January 3rd, 2025, and instead of addressing the issue professionally, they resort to gaslighting and deceit. The person handling my case, Georgina, is incredibly rude, unprofessional, and emotionally unstable. She snaps at tenants, dismisses valid concerns, and is clearly not fit for her role. Rather than resolving issues, she gaslights and makes the process as frustrating as possible. This estate agency is full of liars who do not care about their tenants. Save yourself the stress and go with a reputable, trustworthy agency—there are far better options out there! Avoid at all costs.

Matteo has been a great help, very responsive to emails and calls and even managed to assist with last minute emergencies which the buyer placed upon us in the last minute/days, but chaos was averted, thanks to matteo, professional, efficient and reliable. 16th Jan 2025 (10 weeks ago)We chose Your Move New Cross to sell our property. They were easy to respond during the first few days but as the time went by, they would not reply to our emails. We had to call them to get a response. I guess this is to prevent anything they say to be recorded on email hence being evidence against them. I thought i could rely on them to keep the keep the sale moving. I thought wrong. If i didnt keep on chasing, i wouldnt have known that the sellers solicitor have got the wrong email address of my solicitor! It wasnt the agents fault, but if I was not persistent enough, noone would know. We also lost a property that we wanted to buy because we where reassured that the sale was going as expected. We were told that we can complete but it never happened. We almost gave up with the sale but we were already into deep to pull out. For the record, we were told that the longest the sale would be was 16weeks. In the end, the sale took 10months! I dont know if I can recommend them really or is this is really how agents in UK work. Probably paid to poorly to care.
1st Mar 2025 (27 days ago)Overall, a positive experience. The viewings were good, i don’t think they pushed for the most money, but I didn't ask them too so not really a negative. I do think the post sale service needs a lot of work though - I am the one pushing everything along, and chasing the agent and both solicitors, and more could be done to be more pro active. But the sales process was good overall.
1st Nov 2024 (21 weeks ago)Often seemed disinterested in selling it, I was always chasing for feedback. Had some potential buyers but all felt quite passive rather than pushing the sell. Felt like they gave up in the end and didn’t seem bothered for me to move to a different agent. No viewings in a month. Lack of communication and also knowledge of the property. Forgot it was a leasehold to potential viewers and ownership of attic space that I’d explained about prior to instructing.

14th Oct 2024 (24 weeks ago)5 years on and I used Mark again to find a tenant and he and the team delivered again! They were brilliant again and found me yet another fantastic tenant! I cannot recommend this team enough. Mark has exceptionally good judgment and people skills and he seems to always under promise and over deliver. He is incredibly easy to work with, respectful of both landlords and tenants, listens to your needs, then goes out and finds super tenants. They whole team pulled together to make it happen and I cannot thank them enough. This is another review I wrote 5 years ago and it is still standing: I was in fact not planning on ever using David Evans as I find their shop window displays a bit old fashioned, but when I invited Mark along to get a third quote when I was having my house valued, he made me change my mind as he seemed such a nice and decent person. So when I decided to let the house instead of selling it, he was my first choice. Even though his rental price suggestion wasn't the highest, my priority is to have long term trouble free tenants, so I went with him. He listened carefully to my brief and took his time to find the right tenant and came up trumps. He found me a brilliant set of tenants! Mark is a thoroughly decent person who works as hard for you as he would for himself. He prioritises giving excellent service and building long term relationships with people, and that is fairly rare in this business. I have been buying, selling and letting for 25 years now and Mark is the best person in the business I have ever dealt with. Thoroughly trustworthy and highly recommended!

20th Nov 2024 (18 weeks ago)Initially communication was not particularly proactive. However, eventually it improved. Jamal is very knowledgeable about the local market, as are the rest of the team I spoke to. Acorn have a good reputation in Peckham and a broach reach for potential purchasers.

However JDM were very consistent and always did their best to help me sell my first property and walk me through the process step by step. The agents were great to deal with, kept me updated throughout pre and post sale. I definitely recommend working with JDM if you need to sell your property in London!

20th Jul 2024 (8 mo. ago)I recently purchased through Hunters Forest Hill and I would highly recommend to anyone thinking of purchasing. As the property was a renovation project, I asked several times to revisit the property to take measurements etc to speed up the process once complete - Bradley & Sarah couldn’t have been more accommodating with access and getting me into the property. I didn’t feel under any ‘salesman’s’ chat - just good advice, knowledge of the property and area. Thanks again for the smooth process!

11th Nov 2024 (20 weeks ago)Had such a great experience with the team at Foxtons from start to finish. Andrew from the Foxtons team was so helpful and patient throughout the whole process. From the initial viewing, i was met with a professional yet friendly service. I was frequently updated on the progress and everything was explained clearly. Being a first time buyer I had lots of questions, Andrew was super helpful and patient at explaining everything. Really happy with the experience and would definitely recommend Andrew and the rest of the team.

Guy, Joey and Felix are positive and stay calm under pressure. Their attitude helped me enormously. Our sale went well and Joey worked hard to keep our buyers on side when our purchase fell through.

Steve was honest, straightforward, friendly, and communicated clearly (never in 'agent speak') throughout the letting of our flat. Emails were answered within hours, questions openly answered - at no point did I feel like it was in any way a burden to support me through the process... and they found tenants within days of marketing. What's not to love? Thank you Steve, and Georgina, and whoever else was working behind the scenes to do such a lovely job :)

18th Mar 2024 (1 year ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!
1st Dec 2024 (17 weeks ago)Scammers Have been removed prom property ombudsman for mal practice- 25th Oct 2024 (22 weeks ago)Although I didn't end up getting the place Sam McCaig showed me due to location change of buying a house, I had the best experience with Sam, the information he provided me really helped me take into account everything required in the buying process, my actual estate agents weren't the best so I was really happy I met Sam initially who prepared me and suggested Mortgage Advisers Alexander Hall who were also fantastic. Even though I did not end up using Foxton I suggest to everyone I know to go with them due to fantastic their customer service
