10th Apr 2026 (25 days ago)A few years ago, when my partner and I were looking to rent a property, I had an experience with this company that has stayed with me ever since. During the process, a woman named Gina was holding my passport and asked me whether I was a British citizen after I had simply asked for clarification about something. What made this particularly upsetting was that my partner, who was with me at the time, was not asked the same question. He is white, and I was left feeling singled out, belittled, and judged. When I later raised this concern, I was told this was part of a right to rent check. However, that explanation did not address why I was the only one asked in that way. Right to rent checks should be applied fairly and consistently, and this interaction did not feel fair or professional to me. Years later, I still remember how uncomfortable and diminished that experience made me feel. I am sharing this because I think people deserve to know how they may be treated, especially if they are from an ethnic minority background. I hope the company reflects on how these checks are carried out and ensures that no one else is made to feel this way.

I would have no hesitation in recommending them. As this was the first time buying and selling a property with them, any concerns I had were responded to instantly. However, communication of our sale performance during the marketing period could have been better. We received an extremely professional and friendly service from start to finish, with prompt updates, speedy telephone responses, thorough feedback and excellent advice. At no time did we feel pressured into making a decision or were left without reassurance. We were fully informed every step of the way, either by email, phone or in person.
