12th Aug 2026 (5 weeks ago)Unfortunately, my experience with Hamptons was extremely disappointing. I appointed them three times over the past four years — twice to sell my property and once to let it — and on all three occasions they failed to find a suitable buyer or tenant.<br><br>When I appointed them to let my property, one of their staff members attended a viewing with a prospective tenant. The gentleman did not appear to be working and was asking for a discount on the rent. After locking up the flat, I noticed the prospective tenant and the Hamptons staff member whispering in the hallway and then becoming silent as I approached. I found the situation quite unsettling and it gave me very little confidence about renting my property to this individual.<br><br>More recently, I instructed Hamptons to sell the property again before ultimately deciding to move to another agent. I was disappointed that their junior staff carried out viewings without informing me of the prospective buyer's name beforehand. On one occasion, I discovered through my own investigation that a woman who had already viewed my property twice through Savills was now attempting to view it for a second time through Hamptons. She had not disclosed to Hamptons that she had already viewed the property, and she was not in a position to purchase as her own property was not even on the market. She subsequently visited the property several times, which I felt was an unnecessary waste of everyone's time. Providing me with the prospective buyer's name in advance could potentially have avoided this situation.<br><br>Hamptons eventually found a buyer, but the offer was below the amount I had originally paid for the property. I felt that this was another waste of time, particularly as I was encouraged to consider accepting the offer. Fortunately, I declined.<br><br>The final communication from the director was particularly disappointing. I was told that Hamptons were the only people who could sell my flat and that I was making a mistake by leaving them. This was after three months of marketing, during which there had been very few viewings and no credible offers.<br><br>Needless to say, I decided to change agents. Within just one week of going back onto the market with another estate agent, I received a strong offer — and ultimately achieved the best possible price, reflecting what my property was genuinely worth.<br><br>This experience has made me very sceptical of high-street estate agents. My advice would be to do your research carefully and choose an agent who is transparent, realistic, communicative and genuinely focused on achieving the right result for you.

This is a valuable function particularly in a 'challenging and protracted' sales transaction. Sheetal Suri, Senior Property Consultant stepped up to propel the sale of our property and we appreciate her efforts and input. Would have given Shaw & Co a 5-star rating but for the execution of its end-to-end sales progression service, and for that reason, given a 4-star rating.

We first talked to Peter to find a letting solution. Peter, Victoria, and their team found suitable tenants quickly while keeping us well informed. Anna and Ella handled the practical side. Anna devoted lots of time to contracts, agreements, and preparation work. Ella also assisted a lot with scheduling and went beyond her role by supervising the disposal of old furniture to ensure a smooth move-in—which we truly appreciated ! Mae and Gioia were also very responsive and helpful.As overseas landlords, having an experienced, reliable team is vital to us. We're very grateful for their hard work and would happily recommend Hamptons.

They are professional, efficient, and always very quick to help find a suitable property.<br><br>When I decided to move this time, I chose to use them again, and everything went very smoothly. They helped me find the ideal home and made the whole moving process easy and stress-free.<br><br>A special thank you to Paria Shamil , who has been absolutely wonderful. After I moved in, I noticed that a few things in the property were damaged . As soon as I let her know, she responded immediately and arranged for the issues to be resolved very quickly. She is extremely helpful, responsive, and professional.<br><br>Ashlee has also been fantastic and very helpful throughout the process<br><br>After 8 years of using this agency, I am still very happy with their service and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to rent a property. He has constantly kept me up to date with what is happening and liaised with all parties on both sides through out the process . Even though I lost my first buyer due to their buyer pulling out. Jakub continued to be the top person in all communication. Jakub is very knowledgeable and was able to explain everything in accessible terms, He lead my through every step of the way. I am so pleased I went with Jakub, he was with me throughout the journey of selling and so charming to communicate with at all times, even when it was bad news.
