24th Mar 2026 (25 days ago)Of three agents in Caterham, we selected Hamptons, not because they said they could get us the highest price, but because they believed in the estimate they gave and it was aligned with what we believed too! A few minor hiccups in comms at the beginning but once sorted the service was excellent. We had several of their sales staff show people around and Elliot brought the winning couple over and handled the comms from there. The sale and onwards purchase was fraught with challenges and took way longer than it would with issues in the chain (of 7 properties). None of them related to our sale or purchase, but Elliot was instrumental in having the whole chain talking to each other and providing almost daily updates. and speedy responses to any email we sent. (Thanks Elliot!). A special mention also to Carrie who took over while Elliot was away without missing a beat and was also very forceful?????? at making things happen. (Thanks to you too Carrie!) All in all, a great experience. Thanks to the whole team behind the scenes too, you know who you are.

It was a long process with many ups and downs but Chattertons were supportive throughout. Jen’s support was especially invaluable, she was always available to answer any queries and was so proactive in communicating with us or problem solving where needed. An excellent agency who we would recommend to anyone !

4th Apr 2026 (14 days ago)I recently had to sell my parents home in West Wickham following probate. It was quite an emotional and upsetting experience and difficult at times as I do not live locally. However, James and Hannah were extremely helpful and sensitive and often went above and beyond checking that things at the house were ok. The sale went through very smoothly and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Alan de Maid.- 7th Jan 2026 (14 weeks ago)Exceptional throughout! 10th Mar 2026 (6 weeks ago)POOR MANAGEMENT and failure to provide Full tenancy file including the documents of All referencing documents or confirmation that none was sought Guarantor documentation or confirmation that none was sought Inspection logs or confirmation that none are available -one after 9mths-much damage to the property All compliance certificates and dates of service -failure to issue the correct and necessary documents to the tenant resulting in a void section 21 Complaints handling records - failure to respond to complaints Internal notes relating to the tenancy Copies of all communications with the tenant They redress scheme membership details - YET TO KNOW IF THEY BELONG

11th Apr 2026 (7 days ago)I’m not sure what to make of this, but it was the most bizarre experience I’ve ever had of being shown around a flat. I was apprehensive about using an unheard of estate agent as I’ve always stuck to well known ones. All seemed good at first when speaking to Leanna who made me feel at ease with her chirpy regional dialect, but then the viewing.. Well, Leanna showed up on time and we went inside. The tenants were out and the property was exactly as it looked on the website, so no complaints there, but then she started helping herself to biscuits, saying “I won’t tell if you don’t”. It didn’t stop there.. she opened the fridge and started putting items in a plastic carrier bag. Not even anything of value - it was literally butter and eggs. I would have given 2.5 stars if I could, but as it was either 2 or 3 I opted for 2. It wasn’t a mediocre experience, and credit where it’s due for the property being nice, it was just incredibly odd. Needless to say I didn’t put in an offer.

27th Mar 2026 (22 days ago)THE RUDEST ESTATE AGENT I HAVE EVER COME ACCROSS IN MY LIFE! Usually you would expect to be welcomed to to a property you are looking to buy, invited to park on the drive so you can see what it would be like to live there. Not Claudia Romano, who arrives 1 minute before the appointment, shouting out of her car door, "I'M THE ESTATE AGENT SO I GET TO PARK THERE!". And then, once we have driven around and finally found somewhere to park, has the cheek to tell us that we're late and we will not have a full appointment - when we were there first! Prospective sellers - avoid at all costs!!!

Mark feels more like a trusted friend than an agent, a true confidante throughout the process. James was exceptional too, completely across every detail, all under Mark’s thoughtful stewardship. A refreshing, reassuring experience from start to finish. Would highly recommend whether you are selling or buying.
