fast, convenient, good commincation. Would recommened.
Many people are uncomfortable to leave a negative review with their names, however, our experience was so dreadful with this unprofessional agency that we would like to share it with others. The property we've recently bought was solely marketed by this agency so we didn't have a choice but to try and work with them. However, the whole office is unbelievably incompetent. First of all, your private details are handled carelessly resulting in us gaining regular access to their other clients' private data (both vendors and buyers) both via e-mail and postal letters. Think carelessly copied in e-mails from other clients, postal letters addressed to other clients attached to ours in the same envelope. Once could be a mistake but this happening numerous times via both methods raises serious concerns.
Second, as we already had our mortgage sorted and our chain was very short and all freehold we requested the exchange date to be within 9 weeks from acceptance of offer (this is a perfectly acceptable amount of time) so we could avoid paying another 2.5 months of rental fee unnecessarily. Vanessa claimed that our request is impossible and set up the exchange date 10 weeks after the offer got accepted. Ironically, about 10 days before their chosen exchange date they started to harass us to exchange asap as everyone in the chain was apparently ready to sign immediately. When we refused to bring the dates ahead due to them being ignorant about our needs earlier we've been put under incredible and completely unnecessary pressure with their constant calls, e-mails (even to our solicitor to convince us!!) pushy attitude and agressive tactics. To the point, that I had to switch phone numbers for a week to avoid repeating ourselves the 10th time about our refusal of a last minute change of the date that they forced on us in the first place. And to the point that we got very close to pulling out of the whole purchase just to get rid of this horrible agency. No doubt, had we found another suitable property at that point we would have pulled out without thinking twice.
Thirdly, despite all the stress they caused to try and bring the exchange date earlier last minute "due to everyone was ready", guess what.. on the named exchange day the exchange had to be cancelled due to the rest of the chain not even being ready with their paperwork. It's a wonder that the purchase actually happened in the end.
Had some concerns at first however after raising the issues with rob the manager he was happy to help and adress any issues and has since given me his personal contact should i have any further issues. Greatly appreciated his input.
Lisa was helpful at all times and proactive. She introduced me to a good decorator,as my flat badly needed painting . When a Buyer was found , she was diligent in checking progress and liaising with the Buyer and the Buyer’s solicitor. When she was not in, her emails were monitored by MAK, the office director ,who always promptly replied to me with relevant information. Alan de Maid also carried out all viewings for and always promptly gave me feedback. An excellent service.
Initially very professional, and pleasant and they say all the right things to you when turning up to value your house...not so good when you thank them but reluctantly and politely decline to sign with them and choose another estate agent instead. As we had no reply to that we thought that was that.
However, a couple of months later one of their agents (who had met us to value our house) rang my partner, asking how the sale of our house was going. They knew that it was still on the market and proceeded to criticize the estate agent that we were using, saying that they had a very bad reputation, criticized the manager of the branch and smugly talked about how many properties that they had sold recently etc. in a very gloating, unpleasant manner. We have since sold our house through the agents that they were so critical of and we're very glad that we did not sign up with Alan de Maid after their rude, unprofessional behaviour.
Outstanding service from James Smith (Branch Manager) and the team.
It was my first time using the estate agent, I was impressed with the service - in this particular branch. I didn't bother to go elsewhere after I done some research myself, they seem is the one letting out most of the properties in BR2 - in super fast speed. So, if you are looking to let out your property or rent, this is where to go.
Thank you so much for your help, James and the team.
Unfortunately, pretty useless. Bought from them and had impersonal and fairly consistently incompetent service from our particular estate agent. She didn't listen when they called us asking questions and didn't answer questions when asked. Would recommend avoiding selling or buying if possible.
Thankfully the branch manager stepped in and fix to mistakes.
Excellent service from Sophie right from viewing the property through to getting the keys. Answered all questions and settled any issues quickly and efficiently. Can’t reccommend highly enough. Thank you!
It’s nice to see great reviews on here but unfortunately we haven’t had the same experience – it’s been painful from start to finish. They’ve falsely advertised property features on RightMove and their leaflets but apparently they don’t have the time to update these to ensure it’s an accurate reflection. The property management team in Bromley don’t have a clue about the properties they manage and we’re constantly having to chase for an answer. We've expressed all of our concerns but they don't seem to raise these with their management team. I’d avoid using them where possible in the future – shame as we love the property we’ve moved into!
Winkworth in Beckenham provided us with an excellent service throughout the sale of our house. The initial advertising and offer process was well executed with minimal fuss. Thereafter their skill in keeping a lengthy chain together until completion was excellent. I would not hesitate in recommending them
Awful experience selling our home, took 2 weeks and 3 phone calls to put our house on their website and rightmove, managed 2 viewings in a month and when we tried a few "secret shopper" drop ins from friends they never mentioned our property despite specifically being asked for the same type of house. We had found a property elsewhere and when the agent there rang them she was given the impression we weren't taking their advice and were unlikely to sell which lost us the house we liked. Totally incompetent. I rang to complain and wasn't even offered an apology.
