We recently purchased a house through Alan De Maid. Ralph was really great. He gave sound advice, provided reassurance and was always quick to return my calls and emails. I would highly recommend.
We were going through a property purchase and sale with Alan de Maid in Beckenham. The day before we were due to exchange, the agent notified us that the purchase of the property we were buying would not proceed. It transpires that they withheld information from us and did not act in our best interests. As a result, we've lost time and money not to mention the undue stress this has caused us as a family.
Given the circumstances, we asked the branch manager to waive the 28 day termination period (a small ask in our opinion) but he refused so we've now raised a formal complaint.
They failed to treat us fairly, do the right thing and act with integrity. Needless to say we would not use this agent to purchase or sell a property again.
Outstanding level of attention, quick follow ups on every question however big or small, one week from seeing the apartment to moving-in day. Professional, polite, efficient, positive.

Unfortunately, pretty useless. Bought from them and had impersonal and fairly consistently incompetent service from our particular estate agent. She didn't listen when they called us asking questions and didn't answer questions when asked. Would recommend avoiding selling or buying if possible.
Thankfully the branch manager stepped in and fix to mistakes.
Very quick to respond to our queries, and we were the buyers, not their sellers. We had some delays to the sale which Mann tried to expedite as quickly as possible - if it werent for them, I doubt we would have exchanged yet, let alone completed.
This has been a joke! I moved into a managed property 2 years ago and since then we have at least 3 different property managers. I would email with an issue only to get a response a month later that the person was not working there anymore and no one would ever follow it up!! When moving out of the property on the day of the check-out, I sent a formal request for the return of the deposit and still to this day A MONTH later, we haven't received anything. I have been calling and emailing and I've been ignored and lied to. I'm very disappointed in the service as Doug was really nice when he showed us the house 2 years ago.
I have used Winkworth in Beckenham to manage my property for the last 5 years and have been very happy with the service I have received. I generally deal with Laura Baines who is cheerful, helpful and very professional, as are all the staff I have met/spoken to at the branch.
Poor knowledge of the market. They were not thorough enough with valuation and failed to discover that a flat was on the market at a much lower price. I had to bring this to their attention! Also they were slow and not proactive enough. I had to look at market and call them to reduce the price. After a wasted 10 weeks contract with them no sale and we are now approaching Xmas where it slows .I truly believe we could have sold in September had we gone with another agent. Don't bother to try and sell with winkworth.
