Great experience in dealing with James and his colleagues at Cockburn and managed to close the sale extremely quickly and efficiently. Very happy to have chosen them and will again go to Cockburn if needed in future
Thank you team
Do not give this agent your property to let. They are simply too inept to manage the simplest of tasks let alone be trusted with the day-to-day management your property. They failed to arrange fixing the heating for my tenant for a whole year before he handed notice (even with me chasing them to do so for months on end). They lied to me about getting my gas certificate renewed. They do not even bother replying to the simplest of enquiries. They did not even remember to give me notice that my tenant was ending the tenancy. Don't be fooled by any competence they may display before you sign up with these guys - they will simply pass the management of your property to a completely different team of people anyway. Currently seeking my fees back and compensation through the TPO. This company is a complete joke from top to bottom! You've been warned. Don’t waste your time and money. Look elsewhere!
Terrible communication, spent most of my time phoning them for updates as they never rang me. Call and leave messages that never get returned. Asked for letting agent to call me many times, never happened. Went with another company and glad I did.
From beginning to end the whole process has been super smooth and fair. The whole credit goes to the team at Alan de Maid at Orpington branch and James our Sales Negotiator.
Thank you for this wonderful experience

Great service from start to finish from James and the team at Alan de Maid
Cannot recommend the Shirley branch enough. Siobhon went above and beyond and took the stress out of moving, she was in contact with everyone constantly. Pushing for the sale quickly. Help was given with my sons purchase even though they were not buying through the Shirley branch. Thank you to Siobhan and Sam.
Luisa at Bairstow Eves in Shirley was brilliant from the moment our property went on the market. She kept us informed every step of the way and worked really hard with our buyer to get the best possible completion date that suited everyone. The whole team at Bairstow Eves in Shirley are great and we picked them because when Sam initially did our valuation she made us feel really good about our property which instilled us with confidence that they would get us the right buyer. Even though Siobhan did not deal with our sale she always passed on messages for us and was always welcoming when we visited the branch. My husband and I would highly recommend Bairstow Eves and their marketing and professionalism is second to none. We needed a quick sale and they delivered and we are now settled and happy in our new home thanks to the team at Bairstow Eves in Shirley.
Good agent. Special shout out to Carly who was very approachable and supportive.
We hit upon the dream team in finding Chris and Carly. From the start we felt they understood our priorities, and they helped us find our dream house. We couldn't be happier with the service we received.
Jak, Michelle and Eloise are above expectations. They are an excellent team giving a uniquely high commitment to selling our family home in an empathetic way. Their communication and honesty is refreshing to encounter in today's climate. We would recommend them above all others
Jak spoke of being 'different' to other estate agents and as I warmed to his approach, we agreed in principle that they would take control of the sale of our house.
I sent an email when we returned from holiday asking questions and wishing to clarify matters in regards to the contract and requesting that someone come and collect the contract from us as Bexley is not ideal for parking.
5 days passed until I had a missed call from the office. No message was left though. I only knew it was Harpers because I Googled the phone number.
As my original email had not been responded to, I forwarded it on and asked further questions. The following day I received a reply but it still didn't address the main questions that I had asked. The email ended with "I will follow up with a call later to see when you would like to book us in to take the property on". I sent one further reply and then awaited the phone call.
As the days went by, I got tired of waiting.
We instructed an EPC privately at a cost of £45 (check the government website for certified assessors), he mentioned an estate agent and that afternoon the owner was at our home.
The following day the floor plan was completed and a day later were the photographs. Luckily I was able to do these myself but for a small extra charge we could have instructed the EPC assessor to do these too on the same day he initially visited.
Our house went on the market on a Saturday and by the Monday we had two viewings booked in - in which time I still had not had a reply from Harpers!
We had provisionally instructed Harpers to take on the sale of the house and we just wanted to clarify some matters before handing over the contract. Surely, responding and having the contract signed asap is in your interest?
