11th Apr 2024 (21 days ago)Story time! We paid a reservation fee of £2,000 for a new build property at a really good price, a bit under the property price. After a few weeks, we had our buyer pull out but managed to find another buyer for our property within a week. Apparently, this was not what the developer had wanted and the estate agent sneakily relisted our property again. This company is full of lies and deception. Please save yourself from it! Finding someone in a week was apparently not enough and we were too slow. Turns out.. Another buyer managed to get the property that we wanted at a higher price - £25k more and we only found out after a week of no replies from this estate agency - we were not quick enough apparently. They offered us another property which was not what we wanted. Bearing in mind, we had reserved this property!!! We decided to fight for our reservation fee back as at no point in time did we ever pull out or wanted to back out. We emailed Acorn and they said they would ask the developer for us. A week of emailing from our solicitor to the developer, it turns out the developer never had our £2k deposit and it was in fact always with the estate agent. GET THIS! Acorn was in fact CC’ed in all those emails. Silence from Acorn but they guiltily gave back our reservation fee back. How embarrassing! There were so many red flags, and we literally went through so much to try and exchange. We kept them in the loop but they were very slow in their replies and it seemed like they were sabotaging us. They wanted a fatter share of the sale! They kept on lying to us and the dates that they gave were all untruthful, they kept stating that we were too slow and that the house was already done but this was a lie. We visited the development many times to see and it did not add up. I hope no one ever goes through the experience I went through! AVOID!!! P.s we’ve driven past the development and in hindsight we are so glad that we did not buy the house. The developer messed up on many things.

She was super helpful when answering all my questions and was really responsive during the application process. She made time for viewings out of hours and made sure she was flexible to work around my work schedule, which isn’t often the case with other agents. Bought our home through them and they also helped with putting our previous home for sale. They are my go to agents. 9th Jan 2024 (16 weeks ago)Alex James and Callum were very kind, helpful, patient yet where necessary and appropriate weren't afraid to be direct and plain with me, and in Alex James's words it was to help me and I don't doubt that at all. He provided useful, helpful tips when I was experiencing feelings of being overwhelmed to be calm and collected yet respectful towards our new and upcoming landlord and general other tips for how any tenant is informed of things. I'm not surprised they've got such positive, spectacular reviews. It's a family owned and run estate agency too but overall have felt greatly supported and helped throughout the referencing and anything else they were to do to help our landlord. I have no problem recommending this estate agency, they seem very well knowledged, experienced, helpful, kind, patient yet also very honest. Thank you to Alex James and Callum you've been an honour to correspond with. Anyone who can be as good with me as they have been is worth this recommendation and honest review.

She managed to find what I was looking for in a short time (top floor flats, reasonable service charge and long lease) and really went the extra mile with making the most of our time with multiple viewings with a smile:) Even though my circumstances changed and I no longer need to view flats, I highly recommend Samantha as an agent to find your dream property!

3rd Apr 2024 (29 days ago)Never ever let from Chase Evans. The apartment I let had 2 faulty switches which caused multiple electric shock incidents. I complained to my property manager Danish twice after this. I eventually decided to move out of the property because they are not responsive. Adriana in the office told me that Danish is no longer working in Chase Evans and he did not communicate your issue before he left. When I called Adriana's manager, he told me that Danish never left Chase Evans. He just moved teams. Now when I call to ask for my deposit, Adriana never takes the call and ask her colleague to pick it. I don't know her name but she very rudely cuts the phone without giving me the information I need. I am filing a case against them now. Worst experience I ever had dealing with letting agents. Would not recommend at all.
