29th Aug 2026 (20 days ago)Very disappointing experience with PMS Estate Agency – would not recommend<br><br>Our experience with PMS Estate Agency was extremely disappointing, particularly when it came to maintenance, communication and the charges proposed at the end of our tenancy.<br><br>When we moved into the property, we immediately reported mould on the ceiling and a non functioning ventilation system in the toilets. We were advised to open the windows, but the ventilation issue was not properly addressed until almost three years later, when we told them we were leaving.<br><br>We also experienced a serious hot water problem. The shower would repeatedly stop providing hot water, and despite contacting the agency several times, the issue took around one month to resolve. This was during the winter, and the situation became so difficult that we had to go to the gym to shower. In our experience, maintenance requests were often met with delays and repeated chasing.<br><br>The biggest issue came when dealing with our £1,615 deposit. PMS initially proposed deductions of £1,409, which we strongly disputed because we did not believe many of the claimed costs were our responsibility.<br><br>For example, we were charged £180 for carpet cleaning, even though the carpet had been replaced with a brand new one only around a week before we left the property.<br><br>We were also told that £400 was being charged for kitchen cleaning. We had cleaned the property before leaving and therefore questioned whether this amount was reasonable. We asked for proper evidence and receipts to support these charges.<br><br>There was also a significant rent increase of around £250 after the first year, which added to our overall dissatisfaction with the tenancy.<br><br>Overall, we felt that once the tenancy was underway, communication became very difficult and maintenance issues were not dealt with within a reasonable time. The proposed end of tenancy charges were also, in our opinion, excessive and required us to challenge and question them.<br><br>Based on our experience, we would not recommend PMS Estate Agency. If you do rent through them, I strongly recommend keeping records of every maintenance issue, taking photographs and videos of the property, keeping all correspondence and carefully checking any proposed deductions from your deposit.
13th May 2026 (18 weeks ago)Fennwright as not acted in my best interest upon end of tenancy. I paid my rents and never delayed a minute and when I ended my tenancy upon expiration of agreement, I was presented a bill of £505 which I found to be unfair to me. I contacted Fennwright and it’s clear my opinion and interest doesn’t matter to them except for that of the landlord. I am also your client and deserve better treatment. Not sure I can deal with Fennwright again because it’s clear they are on the side of the landlord and not the tenants

22nd Jan 2026 (7 mo. ago)The whole team at Arkwright’s in Saffron Walden have been a joy to work with. From initial contact, to the sales details - including a very inventive video, made on the only rainy day for weeks and weeks with a ‘Singing in the rain’ sound track! l had several viewings in the first week and an agreed sale within around 2 weeks ( after having been with another agent for 4 months with no viewings at all) The whole process has been easy, efficient, profession, respectful and friendly. I would highly recommend them and especially if you have a slightly quirky property. Thanks to all.

27th Aug 2026 (22 days ago)To say Olivia changed our lives would genuinely be an understatement.<br><br>What should have been a relatively straightforward move turned into a much longer and far more stressful process than we ever anticipated, but Olivia was absolutely incredible from start to finish. She went above and beyond at every possible opportunity to keep things moving, get problems resolved as quickly as possible and, just as importantly, keep us calm and reassured throughout it all.<br><br>Evenings, weekends, even while she was on holiday — Olivia always seemed to be there when we needed her. The level of care, communication and commitment she showed us was honestly exceptional.<br><br>The entire team at Beresfords Maldon were fantastic, helping us with both the sale of our property and the purchase of our new home. We’ve now moved into what we genuinely hope will be our forever home, while also achieving a fantastic price on our sale.<br><br>Five stars honestly doesn’t feel like enough.<br><br>Thank you so much to Olivia and everyone at Beresfords Maldon for everything you did for us. Bryony Collett has kept me updated through the whole process, and her communication has made me feel at ease whilst purchasing my first home. Compared to another Estate Agents I have also been dealing with, I would never go anywhere else now. Thank you again Bryony, I would definitely recommend this estate agents to anyone looking at buying a home.

They really buck the trend of the stereotypical estate agent - we felt well informed and that they were transparent throughout the process. Most importantly, we never felt under pressure to buy unlike our uncomfortable experience with some other national agents. We would highly recommend if you're looking for an agent in the area - they're an absolute pleasure to deal with.

14th Aug 2026 (5 weeks ago)Intercounty Dunmow helped me with the sale of my shared ownership property. The housing association had listed the property as required for 3 months with not a single viewing arranged. I was deflated about it and Intercounty changed the whole thing. I was very impressed by the initial appointment and how quickly they got it on the market.<br><br>Intercounty handled all of the viewings and communicated really well throughout. Very quickly I received offers and the sale was arranged. Unfortunately the first buyer pulled out at the last minute. Intercounty again very quickly found another buyer. I spoke mostly with Annabel Gurnett who was great both times!<br><br>After the sale was agreed Hayley French progressed the sale and without her I’m not sure what I would have done, it felt like she made it her personal mission to get it done. The buyers solicitor was very slow and Hayley sent multiple chaser emails and kept me updated throughout. It made the process much less stressful, so thank you so much.<br><br>Overall everyone was really helpful and technically sold the flat twice (thankfully only charging me once!). Really good team, highly recommended!

26th Aug 2026 (23 days ago)We worked with this so called ,, senior negotiator ,, Chloe , while trying to purchase a property. Throughout the process, the negotiation tactics were highly aggressive & lacked transparency. Chloe pressured us to increase our offer by claiming there were multiple higher bids, but refused to provide clear timeline updates or confirm when our conditions were presented to the vendor. Due to this lack of communication and high-pressure environment, we withdrew our interest. I would not recommend using this agency if you value transparency or professional service.<br>Lacked communication & honesty. Time wasting .<br>Avoid at all costs.

After having a previous negative experience with a different letting agency, we were apprehensive that this was reflective of agencies in general. However, Harris & Wood put our concerns to rest immediately with their friendliness and professionalism. The whole team, especially Daisy, have been kind, helpful, and informative every step of the way. We had a few agents come out to value our property, but we decided to go with Colubrid because, from our first meeting, Joshua seemed extremely confident that he could sell our home quickly. As the Chelmer Village estate agent, he explained that properties like ours are his bread and butter. Our property went on the market on Thursday and was sold by Monday. I cannot thank Joshua and the team enough for their hard work and professionalism throughout. I believe Millie conducted the viewings, and I was told she was local to the area. That certainly showed, as her knowledge of Chelmer Village helped generate multiple offers on our property. If you're thinking of choosing Colubrid, don't hesitate. I would highly recommend them.

From start to finish communication, professionalism & support were there. The entire team are all informed/aware of your position no matter who you speak to. We were very impressed with all the team but must mention<br>Ollie Findley & Alfie Humpries who were instrumental to our sale & purchase, thanks for all your help guys.<br>The solicitor they recommended Cunningtons were outstanding too.
