15th Sep 2022 (1 year ago)Very disappointed with Balgores. Extremely unprofessional not wanting to pass my offer on to a seller despite it being on the market for many months. I called back a month later to ask if my offer could be put forward a second time round and ended up with a very argumentative staff member who still refused. No idea why they are deciding what should be put forward and what shouldn't, no wonder it's been on the market for months - avoid at all costs!

What a good decision! Wayne Shayler took us under his wing and his extensive knowledge of the market and excellent, timely advice was invaluable to us. He was always available to answer our queries and contacted us regularly with updates - I honestly think we couldn’t have chosen a better agent. Thank you so much Wayne! Everyone in the office was unfailingly polite and helpful and we are very happy with the service we received. 14th Nov 2023 (23 weeks ago)I am not one to write bad reviews, however I am in shock with how badly I was treated & spoken to at Elwell Taylor. I contacted them about letting a commercial property for my small but fast growing business. I found a property that I liked and wanted to arrange a viewing. While the ladies that answered the phone were super helpful and friendly I was then unfortunately handed over to a gentleman named Sam Oliver. I explained to Sam that I was very interested in said property and I wanted to arrange a viewing, I had to wait 5 days to view this property as “ they don’t work weekends” which he abruptly told me on the phone & he couldn’t do the next working day either! I explained that the market is very hard to get into at the moment & things are being sold very quickly so I’m worried that I will miss out hence why I wanted to view the property earlier than 5 days time, he had no compassion on the phone and I felt like I was being spoken to like a child. I patiently waited until Tuesday (today) with hopes that his “bad mood” and “ bad customer service” was just one time thing as I can understand the last time I spoke to him was a Friday afternoon so he just wanted to get home. This wasn’t the case, I arrived at said property today and wasn’t even greeted, he didn’t introduce himself ( I had to find his name on your website). He didn’t talk me around the property and didn’t even know the answers to my very simple questions such as “where are the toilets located” “what are the business rates”. You would hope as an estate agent showing you around a place that they deal with they would know the answers! Shocking! Furthermore he proceeded to talk down to me and say that this “premises isn’t for me” and tried to say the he had told me that on the phone which he didn’t, I feel sorry for the person that owns this property as he wasn’t very good at selling it to me! After looking around the premises with no help or little information, I decided that even if it was for me I wouldn’t ever go for it if I had to deal with Ellwell Taylor again! It’s a shame that from day one It wasn’t a friendly experience, I felt like I was a burden to them! Rather than a customer who is wanting to pay good money for a property and generally needed information and help with finding a premises. He really let the company down with the way he spoke and the way he comes across! I run my own business and would be appalled if my team members spoke to clients like that! My complaint is simply the customer service and has nothing to do with the properties that I looked at, like I said even if I found my dream premises I wouldn’t even go for it if I had to deal with him! Such a shame!

18th Mar 2024 (6 weeks ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

A recent new tenancy was handled particularly well by Jody Manno and Daniel Lawrence who both went the extra mile for us whilst we were away overseas.

Lewis would give regular updates on prospective buyers, viewings and just generally kept me informed of all situations. It felt like he was working hard to get the right price for both myself and prospective buyers, I would highly recommend dealing with Lewis at Gilbert and Rose. After a sale was agreed I was put in touch with Claire Skilbeck who was my sales processor, Claire was great - she kept me fully informed throughout the sale, giving me regular updates and it felt like she was really pushing all sides to try and get the exchange/completion to happen smoothly and quickly.

19th Mar 2024 (5 weeks ago)Unfortunately, I have to deduct two stars due to the nightmarish experience with the sellers' solicitors throughout the entire process. Their questionable practices have made the situation incredibly challenging, potentially necessitating legal intervention, which only exacerbates the issue. While it's true that sellers have the autonomy to choose their solicitors, it's reasonable to expect processes in place to ensure they select reputable ones, especially considering the control exerted over buyers to prevent withdrawal before the exchange. On a positive note, Nick/Jamie provided exceptional support and assistance throughout the entire process, even extending his help beyond completion. I wholeheartedly recommend their services to others and would certainly engage with them again in the future, terms and conditions apply*.

Colubrid were an extremely accommodating company to deal with. Selling your house can be a very stressful experience but Colubrid were so good at taking away any unnecessary stress. We were given a very friendly and professional team of estate agents (Josh Morel and Tony Harper) and between them they ensured that any questions or queries we had were answered straight away. They were very good and communicating with us and finding out how we wanted our experience to be. They made sure that we felt listened to and valued as a customer and ensured that we were contacted only in the ways that we specified so that viewings and communication did not encroach too much on our family or work time. They are always friendly and accommodating whenever we speak to them and they are fast to resolve any queries or issues that may arise. We have had such a positive experience with this company and will be recommending them to friends and family and will most definitely be using them again in future if we need to.
