16th Oct 2026 (17 days ago)Chestertons Islington is, without question, the worst company I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. The sheer incompetence, appalling communication and complete lack of accountability throughout our experience have been genuinely astonishing.<br><br>Our tenancy and moving-out process was an absolute nightmare. We incurred approximately £4,000 in additional costs, spent countless hours chasing emails and attempting to resolve issues, and were subsequently faced with further disputes over what we consider to be completely unreasonable deposit deductions.<br><br>What makes this experience particularly infuriating is the apparent unwillingness to acknowledge mistakes or take meaningful responsibility for resolving them. The amount of time, money and energy we have wasted dealing with Chestertons is frankly ridiculous. For a company that markets itself as a reputable, high-end estate agency, the standard of service we received was nothing short of disgraceful.<br><br>The only exception has been Alhad, who has been helpful throughout an otherwise horrendous experience.<br><br>I cannot stress enough how strongly I would advise anyone against using Chestertons Islington- AND CHESTERTONS AS A WHOLE. I have genuinely never encountered such consistently poor service from any company. An extraordinarily expensive, stressful and exhausting experience that I would not wish on anyone.<br><br>Avoid at all costs.
21st Sep 2026 (6 weeks ago)We recently moved into our rental property this month, and we’re very happy with the support we received from Saad and Antonio.<br><br>Saad was very helpful throughout the moving process and always made sure we had the information and support we needed. We also had an issue with the gas meter at the property, and Antonio personally helped us sort it out and made sure the problem was resolved.<br><br>We really appreciate their professionalism, responsiveness, and willingness to help. Thank you both for making our move and settling into the property much easier. Highly recommended!

We were desperate to get everything completed quickly and move into the flat on time, and Hanan was absolutely amazing throughout the whole process.<br><br>She went above and beyond to help us, was always supportive and responsive, and did everything she could to make sure we got the flat on time. We truly appreciate all her hard work and would highly recommend Hanan to anyone looking to rent a property.
5th Sep 2023 (3 years ago)Amazingly bad service We rented a complete owned property for just over 2 years. In that time we had about 5 property managers. This should say all you need to know. Each one not knowing what had gone on before. Given the fact a week before we thought we were moving in we had to chase them to find out nothing had moved forward and they were waiting on us to send documentation (we were not told). Throughout the 2 years they were never really there to help you. After we have left they have tried to keep around 75% of our deposit which is absolutely insane. Missing furniture that never existed in the first place, the most expensive cleaning quote imaginable and £50 to remove a single chair. These are some of the excuses on the quote. Try and avoid complete properties when possible!!
22nd Oct 2026 (11 days ago)Never leave bad google reviews but I feel very let down by Portico as a tenant. It’s taken over 2 months to get our 2.5k deposit back after moving out in August.<br><br>Portico tried to pressure us to use a deposit subscription scheme instead of a normal government protected deposit despite stating several times we didn’t want to. In a highly competitive market, we were told the landlord would favour the former and it may jeopardise our chances of being accepted, even though it would mean we don’t get our money back back.

John's initial consulation and valuation of my property was conducted with honesty openess and enthusiasum, with exception local and market knowledge.<br><br>Once we took the decision to list the property, Coultons moved quickly to get excellent pictures and create a fantastic listing. The bookings for viewings were delp with professionaly and flexibly, and we enjoyed a sale of the property to a excellent prospective buyer represented by Euan who always represented the interests and requirements of both sides of the transaction.<br><br>Throughout the conveyancing process, John and the team were very proactive and responsive to ensure the process kept moving ahead. If we required advice, John and Euan were quick to respond with honest feedback and excellet knowledge.<br><br>Upon exchange - Coultons were quick to present their readyness to all sides of the chain ensuring that exchnage took place smoothly.<br><br>I would highly reccomend John, Euan and the Coultons team to anyone looking at buying or selling a property in thier services areas.

It was always a pleasant and professional experience working with Clare, Bonnie and Beck.<br><br>I’ve been renting through Oakwood for nearly 2 years. They made my move-in process smooth and have always responded quickly and been tremendously helpful when any issues come up, particularly Clare, Bonnie, and Beck! Really recommend!

My agent was responsive and helpful at first, but after I declined to make an offer on a property I couldn't view (the current tenants weren't allowing tours), he stopped replying entirely. I followed up several times over a few weeks and never heard back. That was disappointing, especially since I've had much better experiences with Foxtons branches elsewhere in London. On a positive note, the rest of the team and the receptionist were lovely and welcoming.
10th Sep 2026 (8 weeks ago)The manager Gavie carried out a valuation at my mother’s property and unfortunately the experience was far from professional. Myself and my mother found his manner rude and dismissive, which was particularly disappointing given that this was an important and stressful decision for my mother.<br><br>I also didn’t feel that he demonstrated the level of knowledge you would expect from someone in his position. We were left with very little confidence in the advice being given, he significantly under valued the property.<br><br>It is important to note we had the property valued by another local agent a couple of days later (which took my mother a lot of convincing after this experience) who valued the property at a price we believed fit the property and they brought us multiple offers within the first month and we completed yesterday!<br><br>If you do chose to get a valuation from this agent, I would STRONGLY advise to get a second opinion.
