3rd Sep 2026 (24 days ago)After recently completing on the purchase of a new build bungalow I have to say Gareth has been the best agent we have dealt with in over forty years of buying & selling property.<br>His advice has been honest, helpful, efficient and very supportive. Whenever I raised a question/query he would get it sorted out and get back to me very quickly the same day. Adam was also very helpful. Thankyou Gareth, you’ve made a stressful process much easier.

28th Aug 2026 (30 days ago)We had an extremely disappointing experience with Brown & Co Estate Agents during the end of our tenancy.<br><br>They tried to claim a substantial amount from my deposit for issues that were entirely unreasonable, including the removal of an item of furniture that actually belonged to the property owner, alleged missing lightbulbs, and professional cleaning charges for the entire property including carpets that were nearly 20 years old and beyond life expectancy. Many of the deductions appeared to be aimed at improving the property for the landlord to sell, rather than fairly addressing genuine tenant wear and tear. It was particularly concerning that some of the extra items and the amount of money being claimed were added to throughout the process. The claims presented before and during the DPS dispute process were not entirely consistent, which raised questions about the validity of some of the deductions being sought.<br><br>Throughout the dispute, Josh Bailey's communication was often awkward with no negotiation skills, and there was a clear attempt to pursue claims for betterment rather than what was fair and reasonable under tenancy deposit rules. Rather than acting as an impartial agent, it seemed there was a deliberate focus on maximising the return to the landlord.<br><br>We were also disappointed by his handling of a small area of mould around the faulty hob extractor fan, as the problem was not addressed fairly or appropriately.<br><br>Fortunately, the Deposit Protection Service (DPS) reviewed the evidence independently and saw through many of the claims being made. The adjudicator recognised that the property had not been professionally cleaned when we moved in and rejected a significant proportion of the deductions being sought from our deposit.<br><br>Overall, the experience left us with little confidence in Brown & Co's ability to deal fairly and objectively with tenants. My advice to anyone renting through this agency would be to take extensive photographs at check-in and check-out, keep detailed records of all communication, and not be afraid to challenge deposit deductions through the DPS if you believe they are unfair.<br><br>Based on my experience, I would not recommend Brown & Co Estate Agents.

Ben Rivett was an invaluable source of advice, both at the planning and valuation stages. The quality of his recommendations helped us readily achieve a very good sale. Natalie Howlett- Clarke handled the negotiation and completion stages with great professionalism. Her communication and responsiveness were first rate. Moreover, I really enjoyed working with Ben and Natalie for their friendliness, honesty and good humour, as well as for their high level of professional capability.

23rd Sep 2026 (4 days ago)A huge thank you to Kim, Adam, Morgan and Liam at William H Brown, Unthank Road, for all their help through what turned into a far more complicated property situation than any of us expected.<br><br>Originally, the plan was for the property to be dealt with through an equity buyout, and Kim was incredibly helpful in guiding me through that process and explaining what needed to happen.<br><br>When circumstances changed and the buyout was no longer able to proceed, the property suddenly had to go onto the open market instead. Adam, Morgan and Liam then took over the sale and were fantastic at getting everything moving.<br><br>This was especially appreciated given the state of the housing market at the time and the fact that we had numerous sales fall through along the way. Every time something collapsed, they picked things back up, got the property moving again and remained helpful and positive throughout.<br><br>The circumstances surrounding the sale were also considerably more complicated than a normal transaction, with a lot of additional communication, chasing and back-and-forth required. They handled all of it professionally and kept the focus on getting the property sold.<br><br>Selling a jointly owned property during a difficult separation can be enormously stressful, particularly when plans suddenly change or communication becomes difficult. Having an estate agent who stays calm, practical and focused on moving things forward makes a huge difference.<br><br>For anyone who finds themselves in a similarly complicated sale, I would genuinely recommend them.<br><br>Thank you Kim for all the help with the original equity-buyout process, and Adam, Morgan and Liam for sticking with the sale through the fall-throughs, difficult market and everything else that came with it, and ultimately helping get it over the line.

Moving on from a sale that had fallen through with another agent, the team understood my time pressures and assisted promptly to arrange viewings and proceed with the offer process, helping me to present an offer and quickly resolve negotiations despite the time difference with the seller abroad. They continued with a positive and responsive attitude for the completion process, including a last minute video viewing as a last check prior to completion, and have continued to provide support after the sale as well. I'm very grateful for their hard work and recommend them thoroughly as agents.

They were professional, friendly, knowledgeable and, most importantly, always there when we needed them.<br><br>The whole process was handled brilliantly. Communication was excellent throughout, we were kept informed at every stage, and whenever the inevitable stresses of moving house cropped up, we always felt we had someone on our side helping to keep things moving.<br><br>What really stood out was the personal service. From our first contact & meeting with Fin, who is a credit to the team, never have I met such an enthusiastic and personable representative of an estate agency.<br><br>I also want to thank Oli & Zak, always there, whenever needed.<br><br>We never felt like just another house on the market, they genuinely cared about the sale and about getting us to the finish line.<br><br>After 11 very happy years in our home, it was quite emotional handing over the keys and closing that chapter, but we couldn’t have asked for a better team to help us do it.<br><br>A huge thank you to everyone at Stobart & Hurrell. 13th Aug 2026 (6 weeks ago)I have been looking for the ideal property for over 2 months, have dealt with 7 or 8 different Estate Agency, Sefftons is the first one (and especially Siobhan Smith) to actually listen to what I am searching for and pro actively help me find it. If I was in a position to sell a property I would definitely use them as, as a buyer, I am actively focusing on the properties they have in their portfolio rather then looking at what other agencies have for sale now.

From the very beginning, he kept us informed throughout the entire process and was always happy to answer any questions we had.<br><br>Martin created a group chat with my partner and me, which meant we were all kept updated at the same time and communication was always quick and clear. He worked incredibly hard to keep everything moving and really pushed to ensure we completed as quickly and smoothly as possible.<br><br>He was professional, friendly, approachable and genuinely cared about making the experience as stress-free as he could. On completion day, we were welcomed into our new home with flowers, cupcakes, a bottle to celebrate, and a lovely card from the team. It was such a thoughtful touch and made the day even more special.<br><br>We can't thank Martin and the team enough and would highly recommend them to anyone buying or selling a home
18th Sep 2026 (9 days ago)??<br><br>Extremely disappointing experience. They took days to reply to messages and then took months to return our deposit. Throughout the entire process, they dragged their heels over every detail and repeatedly tried to overcharge us.<br><br>What made things even more frustrating was the lack of communication and consistency between staff. Different workers would give completely different answers, prices and timeframes to the same question. It genuinely felt like nobody knew what they were doing or had any idea what the previous person had told us.<br><br>The whole process was unnecessarily stressful and time-consuming. Based on our experience, I would not recommend using them.
