Matteo has been a great help, very responsive to emails and calls and even managed to assist with last minute emergencies which the buyer placed upon us in the last minute/days, but chaos was averted, thanks to matteo, professional, efficient and reliable. He was incredibly helpful from start to finish and constantly went above and beyond to make sure everything moved smoothly and quickly.Paul was always chasing up my solicitor and mortgage advisor to make sure things were getting done on time. Honestly, I think he worked even harder than I did to help me get this house! He was always quick to reply whenever I needed anything, kept me updated, and regularly checked in on me throughout the process, which really meant a lot during such a stressful time. The team are professional, responsive and clearly knowledgeable about the local market. Fawaz has been excellent in managing the process from start to finish, always keeping me informed and offering practical advice when needed. Bridie has also been incredibly helpful, ensuring everything runs smoothly and dealing with queries promptly and efficiently. Laura has been equally supportive, demonstrating great attention to detail and providing clear communication at every stage. As a landlord, it is reassuring to have such a reliable and proactive team handling my property. They take the stress out of lettings and give me confidence that everything is being managed properly. 18th May 2026 (9 days ago)Recently worked with Gemma on a flat purchase and she was brilliant in helping push the sale over the line. She was proactive, kept me informed throughout the process and was always approachable and professional. She was also very knowledgeable and if there was ever anything she didn’t know, she was honest about it and took the time to find out rather than giving vague answers - something I’ve unfortunately experienced with other agents. My only criticism would be that the original listing could have been clearer regarding the ownership and rights surrounding the courtyard. Aside from that, it was a positive experience, I'm extremely happy to be in and I’d happily recommend Gemma!

4th Feb 2026 (16 weeks ago)I would never recommend someone to work with Johns and Co! I have had a tenant and without fail since the tenant has moved in the rent has never been paid on time. When they found this tenant they called me and pressured me everyday to say this would be a good tenant and how he was a student abroad and the country the student was from a country where they paid for their accommodation. There is not one month I have received this rent on time! I can’t stress enough do not use Johns and Co at no circumstance if you don’t want to be ripped off and stressed out!
17th May 2026 (10 days ago)We had a very disappointing experience with Chestertons while securing a rental property. At the beginning, the process seemed smooth. However, as the move-in date approached, communication became extremely poor. We had to make multiple calls just to reach the manager the day before our scheduled move. Only later that evening were we informed that the property would not be ready for move-in the next day. This caused significant inconvenience, including rescheduling movers and packers, rearranging plans, and taking additional leave from work. We were then advised of a new move-in date two days later, which we accommodated. Unfortunately, upon arrival, the property was still not ready, and the move had to be delayed once again by another day. Throughout the process, various excuses were given, including staffing shortages and issues involving the landlord. We did not want to get involved in determining whose fault it was, but these repeated explanations only further reflected the lack of professionalism and poor management. Overall, it was very stressful and disappointing experience.

Her professionalism, attention to detail, and supportive approach made everything smooth and stress-free from start to finish. Ginny took the time to carefully consult on every detail, answer all questions clearly, and provide guidance whenever needed. She was responsive, knowledgeable, and genuinely committed to making sure everything was handled properly. Her communication was excellent throughout, and it was clear she really cared about delivering a great experience. 18th May 2026 (9 days ago)Never go with CKB, they are the worst estate agents we’ve ever dealt with. Upon vacating the property, they tried to take £800 of our deposit, for made up reasons. We then disputed their claims, and it took over 3 months to get all of our money back from the tenancy deposit service. Poorly run, poorly organised and extremely unprofessional. Avoid at all costs! Another example of their unprofessionalism is when somebody came to knock on the door to view the property, no estate agent was there and I let them in and showed them around myself. We also had an extreme mould issue, which ruined my belongings and it took them 3 months to install a dehumidifier into the back wardrobe. I was told the mould was because of my small plant in the property, rather than the structural damage and leaks from the flat from above.
18th Mar 2024 (2 years ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

18th May 2026 (9 days ago)Got introduced to Ryan Booth through a mutual friend whilst looking into moving to the UAE with the family… honestly, wish I never did. Constantly available on the phone answering endless questions about areas, schools, visas, setting up a business and property. Somehow always replies, which is actually quite annoying. Ended up helping us buy our first overseas property as well, made the whole process far too easy and now we’re even more convinced on the move. Terrible bloke really… far too knowledgeable and way too easy to deal with. Wouldn’t recommend… unless you actually want someone who knows what they’re talking about.??????????????????

Both George and Hiten went above and beyond to respond to any queries and requests which we had throughout the process (which ended up being more complex than we had originally envisaged). They were always incredibly professional, clear in their communication, generous with their time and worked with us to find constructive and proactive solutions. One of the best decisions we made throughout the process of moving house was deciding to list with Element!
