We bought a property through Galloways and I has been an experience full of pressure.
First of all, they sent someone to the property who does not know a single thing about the property. It seems she had to cover for his colleague, I don't blame her, but from the company side does not look great.
During the offer process I could see how they were trying to milks us as much money as possible, they were describing it as "I tried to convince the owners", "I put a good word for you", BUT "we have more viewings", "you will loose the property etc... Clearly they did not put a good word because as soon as we did not want to give more money, they accepted in a matter of hours. They were just scheming how to take all the money the could.
During the purchase process, they were calling ALL the time complaining about my solicitors, I felt forced to get involved when it was contrary to what my solicitors said. It is supposed to be a process managed between solicitors, but they had to even threat us with losing the property because our solicitor was not happy with their replies.
Now at our property, we have seen there might be a mould issue and suddenly a hole in the floor. Our surveyor did not spot this, however, if this agency knew, they did not say anything.
After speaking with several people (we are first time buyers) this is what all the state agents do, I guess we could consider they did what they were supposed to do.... Read more
