8th Jul 2026 (21 days ago)Very disappointing experience with Carter Jonas Cambridge. I would strongly advise tenants to avoid renting through them.<br><br>In my experience, they use unclear tenancy rules to push extra rent and disputed charges onto tenants. My contract was originally fixed-term, but after legal changes they treated it as rolling and tried to charge me almost two extra months, even though I had contacted them in advance about moving out.<br><br>Even before I moved out, I experienced repeated unexpected charges and payment requests, including cleaning-related and other fees outside the deposit. It felt like once you rent through them, they keep finding ways to send invoices and make tenants pay more.<br><br>I was also once locked out of the property for three days without proper support, and there were occasions where access to the property was arranged or carried out without proper prior notice to me.<br><br>Overall, the whole experience was extremely stressful, unclear and unfair. I honestly regret renting through them and would not recommend them to any tenant. If you do rent through them, keep everything in writing, take photos/videos, and challenge every invoice or deduction.

Chloe was my main point of contact and was really good at stepping in and chasing my sale on my behalf as I sold without an estate agent. Kerry also stepped in if Chloe wasn’t around. Best of all they kept us updated as to progress of sale, sometimes more so than the lawyers. Preston and Sinead very approachable and professional, would not hesitate to recommend.

The viewing and offer process was good with some advice on how best to present the property for prospective buyers. While our whole move was not straight forward, Jo kept us well informed at all stages, and was able to help us stay on course when we ran into issues. Over all - a good experience, and professional engagement. Thanks Jo, Richard and team for making our move happen for us!

I give them 5 stars, and would give more if I could. In summary they go above and beyond, are professional, highly responsive, and deeply knowledgeable. Cannot recommend them enough.

As a first time buyer I was given a terrible deal as I unfortunately did not know any better- if you are a first time buyer, or really any buyer, AVOID CONNELLS. EDIT 17/3/26 - you’ve replied telling me to get in touch to make it look to people like you’re doing something about this but you have now not replied to my email. Again, Connells cannot manage the most basic of tasks - do not involve them in your purchase/sale/rental of your house. Edit 1/6/26 still no reply, avoid this company. 11/6/26 I have received another email reminding me to renew my mortgage, clearly GDPR means nothing to this company. I still have not received an email which I was promised in reply to this review.

He was fantastic at communicating with everyone and the vendor offering honest and transparent advice.<br><br>They say an estate agent's real work starts after the sale is agreed to keep all parties posted, and Philip did this brilliantly. We always knew exactly where we stood despite the complexities, highly recommend.

Every step of the way was explained clearly and I’m so pleased to have had her support our journey as first time buyers. 17th Jul 2026 (12 days ago)Matthew Corrall of Crabb Curtis demonstrated his professionalism from his very first visit to value our property ahead of its sale.<br><br>Not only is Matthew a very personable individual, but he was also the most prepared of the several estate agents who valued our home. His level of thoroughness impressed me immediately.<br><br>Matthew provided a TV-quality video walkthrough of my property, alongside high-quality photographs and impressive aerial drone footage. His timing was efficient, and he was flexible in accommodating our schedule from start to finish. His knowledge of marketing and the local property market proved invaluable, resulting in all of our viewings being completed within a single weekend and the forthcoming offers to purchase following quickly.<br><br>His valuation of my property and estimated timescale for the sale were accurate to the last pound, and we sold within the predicted timeframe with very little stress.<br><br>Most importantly, Matthew offered a genuinely personal approach that gave us confidence and reassurance throughout the transaction. We were selling our first home after living there for ten years, so it wasn’t an easy decision to leave. However, Matthew went above and beyond his role by answering our questions, offering thoughtful advice when appropriate, and guiding us whenever we needed support.<br><br>Crabb Curtis also adopted a refreshingly no-pressure approach, which was a welcome contrast to the high-pressure, often condescending tactics employed by some of their competitors.<br><br>I would highly recommend Crabb Curtis, and Matthew in particular. The team are all friendly yet professional. Oliver has exceptional local knowledge of the area and is honest and realistic about pricing properties to sell. Ray was fantastic in keeping us up to date, he excels in communicating effectively and regularly. Margetts are a good example of the importance of using a local estate agent, it really makes a huge difference to the overall process. We have previously used Margetts as our letting agent and again they excelled in keeping us informed and streamlining any issues in a solution focused manner.
