Searching for a new home is even more stressful…<br><br>Last year, while searching for a new home in the Cotswolds, we had the good fortune to meet Tanya Hall from Carter Jonas Oxford. As well as having an incredible ability to showcase special properties, she is a master in the art of matchmaking tenants to landlords. She innately understands that for certain properties it is all about the relationship rather than simply getting a “deal” done.<br><br>Tanya was remarkably thoughtful and adept at helping us get to know our landlord and her team during the vetting phase. She was clear, transparent and always available to guide us through the process. At every point of the negotiation we felt heard and understood by Tanya.<br><br>Now almost a year into our tenancy, we could not be happier with our decision and as a distinct bonus, our landlords have become dear friends.<br><br>We could not be more thrilled with Tanya’s level of service. We would recommend her highly to anyone looking for a new dream home in the Cotswolds.

Everyone was kept informed so it didn’t matter when I rang the office, they all knew what was happening with the property. We particularly wanted to mention Isobel Clarke who has kept in touch regularly with updates and new properties on to the market, she has always been professional, helpful and friendly and a pleasure to speak with and goes beyond to make you feel valued. We have now found our forever home with Brown & Merry and and going through the buying process with Lucy, there has been excellent communication throughout. 11th Oct 2026 (21 days ago)I had a really positive experience with the team when selling my flat, and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to sell their property.<br><br>Gennaro was fantastic throughout the viewing process and did a great job securing the sale. The whole team I dealt with were incredibly helpful, keeping me well informed about viewings and feedback throughout. I particularly liked the app they used, which made the whole process easy to follow and ensured communication was always clear and consistent.<br><br>A special mention goes to Natasha, who was extremely helpful during the final stages of the sale. She went above and beyond to keep things moving, regularly chasing solicitors and maintaining communication to help push the sale through to completion.<br><br>Selling in a challenging market wasn’t necessarily easy, but the support, communication and professionalism of the team made a real difference and helped make the experience as smooth as possible.<br><br>Thank you to Gennaro, Natasha and the whole team for all your hard work. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them, and I would definitely use them again in the future!

17th Oct 2026 (15 days ago)Lincoln Kent proved to be extremely good at keeping the interests and engagement of both buyer and seller in balance as the sale of our three bed bungalow progressed. Initially we hadn’t givenTaylors our business as our eyes had lit up at the empty promise of a higher price proposed by other agents at the over-optimistic start of 2026. After the first offer had fallen down we asked Lincoln to take us on and he found us two further offers when others found us none; the second of these he supervised expertly through to a successful exchange of contracts just yesterday.<br>He kept up a mood of cheerful positivity throughout and lines of communication were always open. When the buyers were anxious for reassurance, information or action he was able to let us know promptly and steer the situation to calmer waters.

24th Oct 2026 (8 days ago)I just Completed on my house sale.<br>I placed my instruction with Thomas Merrifield (Kidlington) after first carefully considering Purple Bricks & doing the hard work myself, then, after deciding that I needed a really professional sale (Not something I felt I could bring through the Purple Bricks route) considering what was available on my own High Street . I felt that good local knowledge was important in my chosen Agency.<br>I narrowed it down to 2 well regarded local Estate Agents, & in truth, at the time, I felt that there was nothing between them (Clint came to our home & explained the process, expectations & cost, and answered any questions we had (there were many!)). In the end I could select only one.<br><br>I am absolutely delighted with the work Thomas Merrifield did for me. Very professional, always available, & in the first week we had a number of viewings booked in, these quickly realised two very good offers, one of which I accepted.<br>I am grateful to Lisa who is extremely talented & experienced, she helped navigate us through the process in a calm, efficient and thorough way, always providing updates & offering guidance where needed. Liaising with our Solicitor & all the other solicitors & Estate Agents in the chain. I am in no doubt, that it was Lisa's constant attention to all outstanding details, that kept our house sale & indeed, our whole chain, on track.<br>Our buyers were first time buyers & as such, were quite naive about the processes (this is not a criticism), Lisa was able to provide them with appropriate reassurance & impartial guidance that ensured they remained in the process. From my conversations with my buyers, I would feel confident that they too were very satisfied with the outcome.<br>I would have no hesitation in recommending Thomas Merrifield Kidlington for your house sale.<br>`
26th Oct 2026 (6 days ago)ABSOLUTELY AVOID THIS ESTATE AGENTS<br><br>Since informing them of our notice to terminate our tenancy until present day (approx. 10 months ago) Chancellors have been nothing but awful towards us.<br><br>We informed them we were moving out, which at some point ended with us being on the phone to them discussing the move out dates/ end of tenancy dates etc. We spoke with Orianne, who over the phone informed us that we could move out on X date which was approx. 14 days prior to our official ‘end of tenancy’ date and that they were lining up a new tenant to move in also earlier than our official end of tenancy date which meant we wouldn’t have to pay the final 14 days worth of rent because the new tenants where essentially covering that with their new payment.<br><br>Of course this was discussed over the phone and silly us, didn’t get her to confirm it in writing via email.<br><br>Anyway, the early move out date arrives and we explain that we’ll drop the keys back to officially show we’ve moved out as per the telephone conversation. We were then told by someone else at chancellors that we will still be charged for the 14 days because that’s when our tenancy officially ends. Meanwhile we’ve already planned to begin our new tenancy elsewhere and therefore are paying all the related costs of that on our new property. Naturally, due to the previous telephone conversation we had created a budget EXCLUDING the 14 days rent because we’d been told we won’t need to pay that. Well of course we did need to pay that because of course our telephone conversation either didn’t happen or was just completely false and we were always going to need to pay regardless of what Orianne had told us.<br><br>Moving on, we reluctantly pay the amount due and continue the moving out process. Deep cleaning the property, handing back the keys etc etc. We moved out of the property on approximately 15/02/26 and one of chancellors staff comes out to inspect the property on 03/03/26. A whole 2 weeks later! Then has the audacity to mark us down and label things as ‘dusty’ and therefore needing a further clean. Putting the blame of ‘dusty’ onto us when you took too long to inspect the property is not our problem so the fact you’re trying to charge us £250 for that is inexplicable.<br><br>They also marked us down for ‘weeds’ in the garden. Which again they have posted pictures of in the report which don’t show any more weeds than were there when we moved into the property. It shows bushes in the garden. They’re also trying to charge us over £90 for that. Again, completely unreasonable and untrue and won’t provide us with any proof of these gardening costs. The pictures even show it to be untrue, yet their ‘internal adjudication’ showed the charges to be ‘fair and true’. The internal adjudication was just someone sending an email to a manager of their company who then replied saying ‘approved’. That was the entire ‘adjudication’. Truly laughable.<br><br>Upon receipt of these charges, we decided to phone Chancellors to try and resolve the issue like adults where we can fairly discuss the issues and come to a reasonable resolution. But of course that wasn’t the case because we were spoken to by Libby Giles who actually began shouting down the phone to my partner with a heap of attitude. So much so that my partner had to ask her the question of ‘why are you being so aggressive and could she please speak to her sensibly’.<br><br>The worst part is, I believe Libby is meant to be a manager of some description? Very interesting customer service approach I must say.<br><br>To date, we are still disputing this entire situation, especially after their ‘completely independent adjudication process’ only to be met with threats of legal action.<br><br>Truly a very stressful and awful experience.
