From the very beginning, they went above and beyond, especially in accommodating us with our newborn, and did everything possible to help us secure our beautiful home, including arranging numerous viewings to suit our circumstances and advocating for us on stamp duty relief. We are incredibly grateful for their honesty, transparency, and clear communication throughout the entire process, which made what could have been a stressful experience feel smooth and reassuring. Zaid, in particular, has been an absolute asset to the team. His kindness, patience, and constant reassurance meant so much to us, and he genuinely felt like part of the family by the end of our journey. We got there in the end! 27th Feb 2026 (10 weeks ago)Very disappointed. My allocated parking space is always taken by another car, and I cannot park my own car. Management cannot provide documents to prove it is my space. I am now thinking to call the police, which is unacceptable for a resident. Second problem: the remote fob does not work. This issue is not fixed for months. I cannot open the barrier, so I can’t even receive deliveries to my flat. Very poor communication and no real solutions. Yevhen, 19 Pinnacle House

Selling my mother's home was always going to be an emotional process, and Jacob at Orchid Estate Agents handled every aspect of it with genuine care and professionalism. Throughout the entire process, his communication was exemplary. We were kept informed at every stage, never left wondering what was happening, and always felt like a priority. He achieved a fantastic price, moved things along at impressive speed, and did it all with a calm, reassuring manner. They have guided us expertly through finding tenants and advising us on realistic rental income. Further, they have a team of honest and reliable trades people to help resolve any issues and as a team are extremely well informed, helpful and friendly. On the sales side, they sold a property for us very quickly and recommended solicitors making the whole process stress free and painless. It is the best agency in Harpenden.

They kept us informed throughout the process even when the sale to the first propective buyers fell through. They found new buyers quickly and smoothly. We would like to mention two of their staff particularly, although all were polite and helpful: Mathew Marchent - saw us through the sale process. Danielle Gennard - helped us through the sales progression. She was always communicative and there with help and advice. Thank you to all the team.
27th Mar 2026 (6 weeks ago)6 stars out of 5 if that's even possible. I recently had the pleasure to work with Jack, Taylor and Ellis as part of my house-move. As part of this process (both selling and buying), we came across a number of different agencies, and the Akeman team is easily the most professional, responsive, honest, accommodating and helpful team. From viewings, to deal negotiations, to progressing the sale, they are supportive and transparent at every step. They follow-through with their promises. Bottom line, I never felt the need to "chase" them on anything, and that speaks volumes. They are simply a breath of fresh air after some mixed experience I've had with other estate agents. I would highly recommend anyone looking to sell/ let their home in the area to give them a call!
