My wife and I had been looking for a house for about a year. Our initial buyer, through a different agent pulled out which is when I contacted Paul. He treated us like family and was an amazing help. Along with his colleague Alec, my wife and I were very well looked after. They were professional, always on hand to answer any question and very supportive. We did end up accepting an offer from a buyer through a different agent, but nonetheless Paul stayed in touch and called me once in a while to make sure we were getting on well and to see if we needed anything. When we did eventually buy our new house he personally called me to congratulate myself and my wife. Even though we didn't end up buying or selling through Lawrence Rand, their service in incredible. If ever I were to move again Paul, Alec and the team are the first people I would go to, without a shadow of a doubt! I am most definitely a fan!... Read more

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! We purchased our house through them in 2015. It all stared well, but as our offer got accepted and moved on to next stage the ordeal began. Our offer was accepted late July, we were told there was no chain and the seller is ready to move out as soon as we can get paperwork done. This turned out be a load of bunk. The seller used to "disappear" for weeks impacting the progress, not responding to queries raised by the solicitors. Paul Ryan who was dealing with the case from Lawrence Rand wasn't very helpful either. During the course he went on leave without giving an hint he was planning to do so. We never got any honest answers as to why the delay despite everything being in order from our side. Phone calls to his office or emails asking for updates rarely got returned unless the email was marked to Peter Lawrence. This was our first home purchase and with so much delay we were not sure what was happening, if there were to be gazumped, whether the deal is going to go through or not, it was very stressful for us. Finally we got the keys towards end of Nov. To our surprise the seller left all his unwanted stuff(mostly rubbish) behind. And he took away some of the fittings/fixtures that he earlier agreed to leave! When we requested Lawrence Rand if they can contact the seller and get the house cleared, all we got was "we will pass the message" and that's it. We never heard anything back. We were never given the contact details of the seller so there was no way possible for us to reach him. We also found out in the week that followed that someone else had signed up for Council Tax payment and another person had signed up for Gas and Electricity for the property. We managed to sort this out ourselves, not not sure how it happened in first place. Had Lawrence Rand been clear with their communication instead of keeping us in dark this experience would have been much better. I guess in a seller driven market, with properties in short supply and high prices, its the buyer which is at the receiving end and the estate agent only cares for the seller from whom ultimately the profits come! And today morning I received a phone call from them asking if I was interested in selling my house due to an increased demand for properties in my area! Good grief!... Read more

One of the most unprofessional companies I have ever come across. They made renting a house such a big hurdle and put me into a difficult situation whilst there is a pandemic going on. The reference company (VAN MILDERT) they are associated with is the worst referencing company. They have been been checking my references as if I am not renting a normal house but buying the queens palace or something. Firstly checking my references against a house I have not agreed upon. Calling my employer several times, head office etc. Even after obtaining all the necessary information required to pass my references they were not satisfied. Asked for my contract of employment which I provided them with. However the contract of employment did not meet up their expectations as if I make the contract myself. I thought ok I,ll get a letter from the HR confirming my salary, position etc. Got the letter, sent it through. Still not satisfied. Provided payslips but again they didn’t meet up to their ‘required’ expectations because of my payslip layout. The next thing they asked for is my bank statements to show my pay. Provided them my bank statements but somehow they weren’t ‘enough’. So I provided two reference letters from hr, payslips, contract of employment, bank statements and they also made a call to my employer. However despite all of this my references were not passed as the information was not enough to confirm I am working with my employer. They asked one thing after the other? Why not ask all of it together? At this moment my employer was surprised too. I would be surprised if anyone ever actually passed the references process. Moving on to frost employees. mr nick and mr Colin advised me to give my notice to my current landlord as they assured me my references will be passed. So I went ahead and did that. This had put me into a massive problem as apparently now my income is not enough for the property. I had clearly stated my income from the beginning of this whole process and the company had confirmed this is enough. I don’t understand if my income was not enough why carry on with the referencing checks if you had known this all along? I decided to meet the landlord and discuss this issue. The landlord had told me they had clearly informed frost they are not renting there property anymore, this was done a few days before my reference checks had began! So I was basically getting my references checked for absolutely no reason. If you don’t want any stress I would not recommend this company at any cost. I will now definitely be taking a legal action against this company as well as the referencing company as they have wasted my time, money and effort to gain references for no reason at all. Oh and given me free stress! Horrible company with rude, unprofessional employees. This is a long review to read but if you have come this far just know it wasn’t as long as my reference check procedure.... Read more

SELLERS, read before you decide to sell your property here. Always difficult to reach sales person. They don't return the call. As a buyer if they don't even care to give call back or provide appointment, I wonder how will this company succeed in selling a property? 14/Mar/20- I am changing my rating to 1 (from 3) based on recent experience. Three calls were made but still they could not find the property in their which they have advertised in rightmove. Untrained staff, careless customer service. It's a nightmare for the buyers to get a viewing appointment. 1. They don't mention the street name in their advert. They provide the information as 'Slough,Berkshire,SL3' but irritatingly they ask the caller to tell the street name of the property to locate it in their system.... Read more

A thoroughly stressful and unpleasant experience using Laurels. Rob at Laurels repeatedly let us down whilst marketing our property, Was unresponsive, often not responding to calls or emails. We have some suspicions of being misled or worse, lied to, regarding offers received on our property. I should stress these are suspicions at this stage and investigations into this are ongoing. In our opinion, the poor service from Rob at Laurels cost us a perfect home to move into and almost lost the seller of this home thousands of pounds through loss of a deposit. My personal recommendation would be to save yourself the stress and hassle and go with agents with a long track record of excellent customer service. In Epsom, Cairds are a much better agent in my opinion and charge the same fees as Laurels, or Greenfields in the Surbiton area. Please don’t be misled by the notion that Laurels are much cheaper than well established High Street Agents are this certainly wasn’t the case in my experience. My advice, avoid.... Read more

Terrible service, taken a year to fix a leaking shower which has caused much more damage to the property and still nothing has been done. Have offered to fix the problem myself as I'm fully qualified and insured to do so but still nothing. My children are in danger of the kitchen ceiling falling on them and yet nobody seems to care! Have emailed phoned and even visited them in person and still nothing. I bet if I was a day late on the rent they'd be phoning me repeatedly. Maybe they'll take notice of this as they won't be getting a penny more till it's sorted!... Read more
