7th Apr 2026 (26 days ago)Absolutely disgraceful experience with Century 21 in London, specifically dealing with Sabir. We were effectively discriminated against for having a child. We were told that the landlord had a “bad experience” with tenants who had children previously, and on that basis, we were not even properly considered. That is completely unacceptable in this day and age. Since when is having a family a reason to be rejected? This is blatant bias and feels like outright discrimination against people with children. Instead of assessing us fairly as tenants based on £250,000 per annum income, references, and suitability they judged us purely on the fact we have a child. Sabir handled the situation terribly. There was no professionalism, no attempt to support us, and no effort to challenge the landlord’s clearly prejudiced stance. It felt like they were completely comfortable going along with it rather than doing their job properly. Families should be treated with respect, not excluded because of someone else’s past experience. This agency seriously needs to review its practices. Would not recommend to anyone especially if you have children.

They have gone above and beyond to ensure that everything has been handled correctly and that the resolution has been reached in a timely manner. I would not hesitate to recommend the very professional John Alexander staff in the future, having dealt with both Tiptree and Colchester offices. Everyone I have had dealings with in the company has been exemplary - well done, and thank you! ADDED COMMENT - March 2026 - A big thank you to all the staff at John Alexander for their continued patience for nearly another year - they had no problem selling my property, but were severely obstructed by events out of their control. Despite this, they pursued every angle to try to get the best conclusion for me. I am so grateful to them for handling everything in a professional and courteous manner. These people really do everything they can to help.

We have just accepted a great offer on our parent's house and are so happy with how well it's all gone, thanks to Daniel and the team. When I met Daniel, I knew he was the man for the job and he didn't disappoint! There were 3 viewings on the first day that the house went on the market and several more since. It has sold in less than a week, which given the current economic climate is remarkable. We wholeheartedly recommend Beresfords.

It has not been the easiest of times, but David Gees is a real diamond. Through all his hard work he remained professional and caring. Not always an easy task.! I would highly recommend Mike Vincent & Son.

They were always responsive, kept me well-informed at every stage, and made what can often be a stressful process feel smooth and straightforward. What impressed me most was their attention to detail and willingness to go the extra mile—nothing ever felt like too much trouble. They took the time to understand exactly what I was looking for and matched me with options that were spot on. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking to buy, sell, or rent.

13th Apr 2026 (20 days ago)Brought a home with Peagrams in Nov 2024 and have sold it through them this month after spending some time flipping the property. Communication is spot on and we have always found them extremely helpful. Amy has helped us through the process of selling our home and has been amazing through each and every step. She’s helped with the process of buying our new home too when we’ve needed extra support pushing the process forward. If we decide to sell our new home in the future, we will definitely be coming back to Peagrams.

Within hours he called us with the valuation explaining exactly why it was that price and then explained the process / options and gave us time to work through the the best route to take. An absolute 5* star service and I would not hesitate to contact them to sell my property. Thank you Nick absolutely great service.
21st Apr 2026 (12 days ago)Extremely disappointing experience with Stoneridge Estate Agents. From start to finish, there was a clear lack of professionalism, urgency, and basic sales progression. We consistently felt that the process was being handled in favour of the buyer, with little regard for us as the sellers. Communication was poor throughout. Emails marked as urgent were not responded to in a timely manner, and updates were vague or lacking altogether. At a critical stage in the transaction, we were left chasing for information that should have been proactively managed by the agent. Most concerning was the failure to properly progress the sale. Key actions, such as chasing solicitors and moving outstanding enquiries forward, were not carried out with the level of urgency expected. This caused unnecessary delays and added significant stress. The buyer’s survey and subsequent renegotiation were also allowed to happen very late in the process, creating avoidable disruption. This should have been addressed much earlier and managed far more effectively. Overall, the handling of this sale was poor and ultimately led to us losing confidence and withdrawing completely. We would not recommend.

Although I was not a direct user of their agency for my sale, both Faye and Mandy were instrumental in managing the chain and the sales process for their buyer and was in contact with me throughout as the seller. If you are looking for an honest friendly agency that are dedicated to delivering outcomes in the London/Havering area I would look no further than Chalk Street Estates.
10th Dec 2025 (21 weeks ago)My case was a lengthy one as there were works required following surveys and the team at Harris and Wood were always in contact, offering support and advice throughout. They also kept my buyers in place from start to finish which was circa 10 Months so was really grateful for that.

20th Mar 2026 (6 weeks ago)All the staff at Blake and Thickbroom were professional, kind, caring, efficient and I had excellent communication with them throughout the sale of my late father's house. David Allis did the initial appointment and was by far the most knowledgeable and professional of all the local Estate Agents we had booked for valuations in the Clacton Area. He gave me confidence and was not at all pushy to get the business but was respectful and clearly had years of experience in the trade, Jack and Joseph kept me updated and informed at least weekly by phone or e mail, Paul was also instrumental in the smooth and efficient sale. Unfortunately I suffered another significant bereavement during the period of selling which could have hindered things due to the nature of the death and as I do not live in the area but the staff were exceptionally kind and helpful whilst efficiently dealing with the sale which went through quickly and without any issues, I bought and sold a house in the area where I live 2 years ago and I can honestly say the experience was nothing like I had with Blake and Thickbroom . I highly recommend the company .

18th Mar 2024 (2 years ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

Usually you would expect to be welcomed to to a property you are looking to buy, invited to park on the drive so you can see what it would be like to live there. Not Claudia Romano, who arrives 1 minute before the appointment, shouting out of her car door, "I'M THE ESTATE AGENT SO I GET TO PARK THERE!". And then, once we have driven around and finally found somewhere to park, has the cheek to tell us that we're late and we will not have a full appointment - when we were there first! Prospective sellers - avoid at all costs!!!- 3rd Apr 2026 (30 days ago)Colubrid Estate Agents provided an outstanding experience from start to finish. Their team is professional, friendly, and highly knowledgeable, making the entire process smooth and stress-free. Communication was excellent throughout, with prompt responses and clear updates at every stage. We spoke regularly to Mike Bidwell who was our main contact and he was very proactive in trying to move the purchase along. Mike also went out of his way to resolve an issue after we'd moved into the property, which we are very thankful for. Based on my experience I have no hesitation in recommending Exquisite Homes to anyone looking to buy or sell a property.
