Dominic was really great with us as we didn't know the area very well at all. Suzie very helpful when finalising the rental agreement. I would recommend Davis Tate.

Difficult market and everyone sitting tight and so the effort from Victoria and her team to sell our house was even more appreciated. From the first meeting with Victoria to the day we handed the keys over we couldn’t have asked for more.<br>Super professional and kept us informed with every step of the way.<br>Wouldn’t hesitate to use their services again and throughly recommend the team to anyone wishing to sell their property in Newbury and the surrounding area. Later when the prior sell fell through, he was quick to chase up with us. And now we're delighted to be moving into our forever home. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Lorraine was amazing throughout the process, always following up and helping us get everything completed smoothly.<br><br>And a special mention to Carol, who was absolutely excellent at chasing all the solicitors and keeping everything moving when things could have easily stalled!<br><br>A genuinely great team who worked hard for us from start to finish. We’re so grateful for all their help and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to sell their home. ??????????
24th Jul 2026 (8 weeks ago)I arranged a valuation to be done and two agents came out, one seemed very pleasant and nice however the other who wasn’t planned to do the viewing was rude obnoxious and showed very little interest in the property and made me feel as if I had wasted their time. This was a shame as the original estate agent had seemed genuinely nice and professional however did very little talking and was overpowered by the other estate agent. Overall compared to the experience from other estate agents on the same level I was extremely disappointed and upset by the whole experience.
5th Sep 2026 (12 days ago)Unfortunately I had a terrible experience with Downer & Co. Having invited them and others to value my property I decided to go with them as my partner thought they were the most 'salesy' so would do a good job. It was definitely all talk as became apparent very quickly.<br><br>I was upfront to them that, having a newborn, I would prefer to have viewings on the same day/one after another and yet I was constantly only given ad-hoc timeslots on random days due to their lack of availability of staff. It was an upheaval to accommodate. The few people that did view clearly weren't looking for the things my property offered so I don't even think they were properly informed or questioned prior to booking. A huge waste of all our time.<br><br>Communication after signing their terms was poor and at one point it had gone 3 weeks without hearing a thing. When I called to chase and ask for advice on how to proceed, Stuart joked that I could 'drop the price by £50k and it would sell' - I should add, it was listed for the amount he valued it at.<br><br>The person conducting the viewings knew nothing about the property, I saw him on the ring doorbell at one viewing unable to find the keys and telling the viewers he didn't have them (they were in a key safe and given the code AND he had conducted a previous viewing!) in another, he was being asked questions about the property and was unable to answer any of them - all information had been provided when I registered so he hadn't bothered to look.<br><br>All in all just incredibly unprofessional. When I found a property I wanted to buy I gave notice, changed agents and the property sold in 8 days after just one morning of viewings back to back. It was like night and day. Thank god for the local Newbury agent in yellow and red!- 17th Dec 2021 (4 years ago)We recently purchased a property through Savills that should have been a smooth process based on a small chain however for various reasons outside our or the buyers control it was far from it. Hayley was an angel and acted to keep our sellers calm and ensured we finally reached a completion date. Would absolutely return to Savills if we are brave enough to move again in the future!

8th May 2026 (19 weeks ago)All the above 'excellents' look ridiculous I know, but they accurately and honestly reflect the service that I have received from Richard James which has been nothing short of astonishing. From the very initial photographs for the advertisement to keeping me informed of viewings and confirming the results of viewings, they could not have been more attentive and considerate. In particular I must name and thank Mr James Sargeant of their Wroughton office for his dogged and persistent qualities. I live in Devon and was afraid that I might not be kept quite so well informed as a result, but I need not have worried. I continue to be delighted with Richard James performance and would urge anyone selling a property to ring them up tomorrow - or even this afternoon!

From the moment we met her, she was incredibly friendly, approachable and engaging, and made the whole experience feel really relaxed.<br><br>What stood out most was how down-to-earth and personable she was. She was professional without being overly formal or uptight, and it felt like we were speaking to a normal, genuine person rather than just being given the usual estate agent sales pitch.<br><br>She was also absolutely brilliant with my three-year-old daughter, taking the time to chat and engage with her, which I really appreciated.<br><br>Overall, Vassna made a really positive impression on us and was an absolute pleasure to deal with. A real credit to the company and someone I’d happily recommend to anyone. Thank you, Vassna!
21st Aug 2026 (27 days ago)Connells Swindon Old Town went above and beyond to make our move happen. It was incredibly difficult with many stumbling blocks but Connells was always there to help.<br><br>Brandon in particular stood out, negotiating a better deal for our purchase when we were forced to take a lower offer to keep our chain intact, wrangling the various difficult parties and solicitors and always keeping me updated and in-the-know, and providing some much-needed reassurance amongst the chaos.<br><br>I'd also like to mention Holly, who, when our first sale fell through and threatened to dissolve our chain, immediately stepped in with a first-time buyer already in mind and ready to go ahead. We had a new buyer in place within a few days.<br><br>The whole team, from sign-on to admin to viewings, were nothing short of fantastic. Some people complain that estate agents aren't worth the money. I can categorically say that Connells Old Town was. We couldn't have moved without them, and I doubt another estate agent would have done anywhere near as much for us.

Their local knowledge is second to none and they always give a speedy response to enquiries. I like that they are an established family business who are friendly and professional at all times. They take the rough with the smooth, always trying to bring a positive outcome to any problem. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending them.

18th Aug 2026 (30 days ago)I think it depends what partnership you have, I one I had the sales pitch was great but the communication throughout once I signed up with them was terrible, at one point t after I chased and chased for feedback after 1 week after a viewing they told me I had an offer, yes it was very low, but I was never told.
