I'm a first-time buyer and completed my first flat purchase on 18th October 2019, and the process was nowhere near as painful as I thought it would be due to the amazing team at Acorn, especially Joe Wheeler who was my main contact. Since being with Acorn for the last 3 years, i have had nothing but trouble. From losing the keys on the way in, breaking the gas tap, to calling up every month for the rent, to paying for a check every 6 months but not getting one for almost 2 years, and then losing the keys AGAIN on the way out, i would never recommend this company to anyone. This is the second time that I have used this company to sell a flat in South London and the first time with the Lewisham branch. Their valuation was on a par with 3 other local agents. Costs were also similar. The photographs and particulars were clear and reflected my property very well. All of the staff at the branch were polite and quick to get back to me with results of my enquiries. Even when other involved parties were slow, Ross kept me up to date and assisted in chasing the relevant people. Acorn kept me in the loop whilst the sale was progressing and particularly so towards the end of the process. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Acorn in Lewisham.... Read more

It's hard to believe that company like this actually exists, and - after so many bad reviewers connected to property letting actually still operates in London. Customer service is non-existent. They do not care about you but your money! They were very quick to collect our holding deposit and all of the necessary documents, but we have never heard from them afterwards. I've never encountered treatment like this. Do yourself a favour and please do not deal with them!!!... Read more

Very disappointed with the professionalism at this branch. Sarah Gillette whom l dealt with before was brilliant but l would not recommend now. Admittedly house sold and house bought but very bad communication and customer attitude. Left a bad taste in my mouth and would not recommend due to my experience. We used John Payne in 2009 to purchase our flat. In 2019 we wanted to sell again and first went with a slightly cheaper estate agent but soon changed back to John Payne. They offer a very professional, friendly and efficient service, are communicative and honest. Both times it was a pleasant experience and I highly recommend them. Finding a buyer was not easy but their professionality meant we always felt well informed on our chances and progress. Especially Chris and Claire have been excellent! Avoid renting from John Payne at all costs. We were shown this property by John Payne in Lee. However, they don't do the management of the rental properties. It means that you don't meet the staff that are responsible for managing your property until after you have paid your holding fee. By that time it can be too late. We had arranged for the house to be in a certain condition and they lied to us before moving in saying that it would be. We then found the property to be not as agreed and since we saw the property even more maintenance was needed. This has caused us lots of emotional distress and their poor customer service continued as we went through the complaints process. We took them to the TPO and got a distress and inconvenience award and we have attached the findings below just to show how poor they are. It seems from the reviews that we aren't the only people they have done this to. The property we were getting was £2100.00pm. For this you would expect a high level of customer service, yet we got the worst we've ever had. Please don't make the same mistake as us and go through these people to rent! I have read the response and the fact that Andrew, who was useless, has stated that we were awarded less than 1% to try and make us out as greedy is ridiculous. It shows how they lie. We tried to claim just over £3000 as it cost us a lot in storage when we were left without a suitable home because they lied to us constantly and we had to walk away. The ombudsman felt we should have stayed. Would you stay and pay rent to someone who lies to you? As there was clear evidence of them deceiving us we were awarded £300 for the distress and inconvenience. This is around 10%. Perhaps a maths class would be good for you Andrew?... Read more

The sales team at ADM were simply outstanding. After many months of trying to sell I turned to ADM and they got me two offers in two weeks. I was based in Australia which could have made the process really tricky however the team at ADM made it so so easy, with regular updates, great advice and customer service going that extra mile with helping me being so far away. Probably the best customer service I have seen in years, extremely proactive in finding buyers not just waiting for buyers, doing what they say they will and communicating when they say they will - I can’t recommend Teresa, Petrena and the team highly enough. Felt stalked with constant calls at the workplace and unbelievable pressure (especially when we were not the ones with the onward chain slowing the process down). Whilst I originally scored Mann with 5 stars I have unfortunately had to alter my review. Mann, and especially Marina were extremely helpful in getting us set up in out new flat. They were quick to respond and happy to help with any queries we had. However, the experience we have since had with Mann's property management company Countrywide could not be more of a parrallel. Several of the issues we have experienced can be found below: 1. Our property manager Keely is extremely slow to respond or action our issues. 2. It has taken 45 days to resolve one problem. We have a list of issues, several of which we were told would be addressed before we even moved in, that are still unresolved. 3. Their '28 day maximum' response rate is a lie, as absolutely none of the issues we raised months ago have even been recognised. 4. We had an emergency issue with our electric boiler which was quite clearly communicated as an issue with the switch, and yet we were given the emergency contact details for a plumber. Proving that they clearly don't actually read my emails. 5. They obviously haven't carried out a full safety check of the property. When we personally reached out to the emergency number to get an electrician, upon arrival he told us that the fuse in the boiler switch was not fitted properly and that the switch to our water pump didn't even have a fuse. Both of which are dangerous and not compliant. I am open to having my opinion changed and if the Mann or Countrywide team would like to get in contact to address some of these overt issues I would encourage them to do so. I will be personally addressing these with Keely or her manager soon and will provide an update as to whether my complaints are listened to and actioned upon. At the end of the day, I am a customer paying tens of thousands for this service and I am far from satisfied.... Read more
