12th Aug 2026 (5 weeks ago)Unfortunately, my experience with Hamptons was extremely disappointing. I appointed them three times over the past four years — twice to sell my property and once to let it — and on all three occasions they failed to find a suitable buyer or tenant.<br><br>When I appointed them to let my property, one of their staff members attended a viewing with a prospective tenant. The gentleman did not appear to be working and was asking for a discount on the rent. After locking up the flat, I noticed the prospective tenant and the Hamptons staff member whispering in the hallway and then becoming silent as I approached. I found the situation quite unsettling and it gave me very little confidence about renting my property to this individual.<br><br>More recently, I instructed Hamptons to sell the property again before ultimately deciding to move to another agent. I was disappointed that their junior staff carried out viewings without informing me of the prospective buyer's name beforehand. On one occasion, I discovered through my own investigation that a woman who had already viewed my property twice through Savills was now attempting to view it for a second time through Hamptons. She had not disclosed to Hamptons that she had already viewed the property, and she was not in a position to purchase as her own property was not even on the market. She subsequently visited the property several times, which I felt was an unnecessary waste of everyone's time. Providing me with the prospective buyer's name in advance could potentially have avoided this situation.<br><br>Hamptons eventually found a buyer, but the offer was below the amount I had originally paid for the property. I felt that this was another waste of time, particularly as I was encouraged to consider accepting the offer. Fortunately, I declined.<br><br>The final communication from the director was particularly disappointing. I was told that Hamptons were the only people who could sell my flat and that I was making a mistake by leaving them. This was after three months of marketing, during which there had been very few viewings and no credible offers.<br><br>Needless to say, I decided to change agents. Within just one week of going back onto the market with another estate agent, I received a strong offer — and ultimately achieved the best possible price, reflecting what my property was genuinely worth.<br><br>This experience has made me very sceptical of high-street estate agents. My advice would be to do your research carefully and choose an agent who is transparent, realistic, communicative and genuinely focused on achieving the right result for you.

Before working with Foxtons, I was with another agency and unfortunately they were not supportive or helpful at all. The difference with Alex was truly remarkable. He was always professional, kind, and calm — even during the most stressful moments of the sale. He always had a solution ready and made us feel reassured at every stage. What I appreciated the most was his availability. He was always reachable and responsive, even while he was on holiday. We were constantly in touch, and that level of dedication made a huge difference for us. I highly recommend Foxtons Battersea, and especially Alex, to anyone looking to sell their property with confidence and proper support.

She was very responsive and professional, and made sure all my questions were answered and that I was kept up to date with my purchase in Earls Court Square. He is professional, friendly, very responsive, and made the overall experience of moving abroad very straightforward and manageable. He explained the process, sent timely reminders about the next steps, and seamlessly negotiated the terms with my landlord. He is an absolute pleasure to work with!
2nd Sep 2026 (16 days ago)I can’t recommend Phil Cantwell at Your Move in New Cross highly enough. He was absolutely fantastic throughout the whole process — competent, responsive, proactive, kind, and professional.<br><br>The sale turned out to be much more complicated than expected, with legal difficulties meaning that the process took over two years to complete. Throughout that entire time, Phil stayed in touch, kept me updated and did everything he could to keep things moving along. Even though I was dealing with everything internationally, his communication was excellent and I always felt that things were being looked after. He made what could have been an extremely stressful experience feel remarkably stress-free. I genuinely don’t know what I would have done without him.<br><br>Phil also went far beyond what I would normally expect from an estate agent. He was incredibly helpful with all sorts of practical things that I would normally have dealt with myself if I had been in London — from replacing batteries in smoke detectors to meeting contractors and helping coordinate things on my behalf.<br><br>He was an absolute delight to deal with: warm, friendly, dependable, and always willing to go the extra mile. I’m incredibly grateful for all his help and would wholeheartedly recommend Phil to anyone looking for an estate agent.

13th Sep 2026 (5 days ago)Based on our experience ,we would highly recommend Petty Son and Prestwich.<br>Catherine who came round to value our house was friendly and professional .Her calm approach helped us initiate the process of selling.<br>Fay who supervised the viewing day took on board all the important details of the house that needed to be passed to potential buyers and ensured the day resulted in many offers.<br>Elaine and Janine ensured that the sale progressed keeping us updated and responding quickly to our questions.<br>Overall we found that the whole process went very smoothly and was relatively stress free.<br>Thank you to the whole team who helped us from start to finish,such that we sold our house a few days after it went on the market.

Even though the homeowners hadn’t specifically requested it, she thoughtfully put on shoe covers before entering the properties—a small but incredibly respectful gesture that I had never encountered before in England.<br><br>What truly stood out, though, was how dedicated and responsive she was throughout the entire process. She always responded incredibly quickly and managed to complete all the paperwork with remarkable efficiency. We have never worked with a firm that was so committed to making the whole experience smooth and stress-free. Highly recommended!
