Complete inflexibility to modify even the most basic terms in rental agreement. Very high admin and background checking fees for templates that can be downloaded free from the internet. Terrible experience as a tenant, can only recommend to stay away from this company and deal directly with the landlord or use online agents where possible.
Rented my property with them for 20 years and whilst they have undergone many changes in recent years including the new name. They have always found great tenants and provided me with excellent service. Had a small issue recently and the team where really great at getting everything sorted out.
Hetheringtons and John D Wood are terrible they are nice but once you have rented a propery they are not interested. A friend of mine rented 17 Evergreen Apartments from them and between them and the landlord they lied and cheated. Absolutely terrible
I was absolutely delighted by the level of service received by this company.
From start to finish, nothing was too much trouble whereby every development was communicated to me immediately. I was especially impressed by the sheer professionalism of our agent Mr Sabat who showed honesty, transparency and commitment in getting the asking price for my property. I would have no hesitation in recomending them to anyone who`s considering.
Terrible experience, really the worst service you can receive. The language we were spoken to was absolutely unacceptable.
Reiss Stuart, who was our agent, was rude, unresponsive, gave us vague answers, kept changing the price, was uncomfortable and rude when we asked questions. We were given incorrect breakdowns of our costs. The issue that raised because of that was blamed on the tenants with emails using unacceptable language. This happened 2 days before the move in, causing a delay in the move in. Due to this one of the tenants had to stay in a hotel until we could move in as she has moved to London from America.
Long story short, the agency is terrible, I wouldn't recommend it, the service doesn't get better after you move in either. Every month so far we have been questioned by our landlord whether we have paid full rent (which we always have, on time as well) as he wasn't getting the full rent. Save yourself from the stress.
Visited Foyer for afternoon tea. Quite cozy, still very much classy. Not like other Foyers in 5 star hotels in London, they had ups and downs. But I assure you here you would find the very best tea experience. Perhaps I would have to admit I was lucky to have such exceptional server for us, could be different in every case like other services, I even feel like to have time to send compliment letter for her only if I know how. Other than that, their clotted cream is by far the world best, jellies and scones were very nice as well. Other dishes were moderate, especially the sandwich was almost wet. Place was little crowded.
For a place that stands for impeccable service, we receive appaling level of attentiveness from the staff at the afternoon tea/ dinner service. Its the holidays and they must have been busier than usual but overwhelmed is not something I expect given their reputation. Definitely not worth the spend and time.
Had a great experience with 1st avenue, after all the issues we had in the past with previous agencies, it was a relief to find 1st avenue.
Luke Charters helped with the viewings, very helpful with what we had in mind. The flats shown were very good and we very pleased with the flat we took, so cheers Luke! Everything was on point before we moved in and throughout the process. Luke was always available to answer any question.
They are very transparent and very clear on payments and references, whilst some agencies hide extra charges, with them the whole process was pretty smooth.
Last, Danielle was kind enough to accommodate our last minute requests regarding moving in, and did us a show around before we moved into the flat, explaining everything, so thank you for that.
Would not hesitate in recommend and using 1st avenue again, for renting or buying, and have indeed, referred them to friends and I am positive they will have a good experience as well.
It's been a challenging journey with 1st Avenue over last 6 months. What started with a lightening fast experience while moving in quickly detoriarated by lethargic behavior towards the issues raised right in the first month. They went on assigning different property managers but failed to do proper handover, showed glaring communication gaps and caused me to spend hours detailing the same issues to multiple people. I sent them emails, logged issues in their defect tracking systems, talked to people on phone however overall lack of efficiency continued. Petty issues like providing the keys took them months. Promises made while moving in were not fulfilled, rules were bent at convenience. While I am still hopeful that there will be some fix to this soon, I am also getting tired of chasing them for updates every week!
