Agreeing to have your property overseen by an agent is not a decision we took lightly and our experience with our first estate agent was not positive but since our move to Hamptons we have been very happy. Astrid has communicated very efficiently with us at all times, keeping us up to date with all matters and we are very confident that our property is in good hands. When our long term tenant left a new tenant was found and all work complete in a matter of days meaning our property was only left empty for a couple of days which was perfect for us as we wanted to get some decorating done. Living abroad we need someone we can trust wholeheartedly and someone we have super confidence in and Astrid has certainly provided us with that. Thank you Astrid,
Awful service from day one. Lied to about planning permission. Never wanted to help us with any issue in the house as they and the landlord obviously knew it was going to be knocked down. The dangerous electrics in the house being the major issue as well as a worrying smell of gas from one of he cupboards. Also was charged a disgusting amount for a reference when leaving the property, when all they did was answer a phone call and say ‘yes he paid his rent on time’.
Overall I plea anyone looking to use Hamptons, not to.
Had an amazing service from Arthur Samuel selling my house and buying a house through them. They couldn't have been more honest, friendly and professional. A special thanks to James and Mark who worked so hard to make it happen so a big thank you to both of you! Can't recommend them highly enough and would definitely use them again in the future!
Very poor service form this estate agent, in particular from Stuart, the owner. In my experience in dealing with them, they conducted themselves in a very unprofessional manner. We were interested in a property in Walton On Thames for sale with Arthur Samuel. From earlier on in our dealings, it seemed that Stuart preferred to deal with other prospective buyers that were in the exact same financial situation as us. We made a number of offers on the house and some of the reasons he gave us for declining our offers were simply ridiculous. Our second offer was declined on the grounds that it took us 9 days from viewing the property for the first time until making an offer. I have never heard of an offer being declined because it took too long (9 days!) to make it. This wasn’t even our first offer!
Stuart promised he would call us back after we made one of our offers, but he never did. The following day he wasnt available to answer the phone and he never called back. It was clear that he didn’t want to deal with us and he didn’t have the decency to answer our calls or call us back.
In the end the seller lost a few thousand pounds as we were offering more money that the other buyers. If I was selling a property, I would think carefully before putting my property for sale with a estate agent that does not put the sellers interest first.
Independent estate agents can provide a very good service, but if anything goes wrong, there’s really no one to complaint to (in this case, the person we were dealing with is the owner of the company), appart from the property ombudsman.
Great honest estate agents, moved us into our property in a very short turn around of time, they worked hard and was extremely helpful after another estate agent left us without a property last minute. Great friendly reliable staff.
I confirmed a viewing. But on the day of the viewing, I could never get through to the agency, they wouldn't answer my call so I didn't know whether the viewing was actually confirmed. And since we couldn't get a hold of this agency at all, we weren't sure where the property truly was as the address they gave us didn't match with maps or anything. We waiting around and the agent didn't show up. Wasted time, petrol and a potential offer. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!
Emma and Alex did a great job. They fitted appointments around our needs, answered all of our many, many questions, and got us to exchange. They have had to deal with a chain which had many different views and needs, and they kept the chain together professionally and efficiently.
We are really looking forward to moving in next week - Thank you! Judi
Emma Horsnell Shave in the sales team was excellent to deal with, they would get 5 stars.
Letting team not so great still waiting the return of my rental deposit they would only get 1star as its taken so long and leaves a bad taste.
So averages down to 3 stars.
Amazing customer service. Whenever there were issues or complications they were sorted extremely quickly and without stress.
The contact from all staff was fantastic. However particular mention to Gabby and Kim who were instrumental in us getting the house and deal we wanted.
Thank you very much to everyone at Alpha Egham and would highly recommend!
Awful estate agents. They were very unprofessional, especially when it came to the checkout process.
We were told a date and time for the check out, then they didn't show up, when we phoned them they told us they had already done it without us several hours prior.
They were noticeably angry that we decided to hire our own end of tenancy cleaners and not spend ridiculous amounts on the ones that they recommended. They told us that they would advise the landlord that we should not receive any of our security deposit back.
Luckilly our landlord inspected the property himself and didn't want to charge us for anything, so Alpha returned our deposit (minus a £96 fee that they had never informed us about).
When we went in to their office to return the keys, we were immediately greeted with: “are you the ones who left the bad Google review?" He was almost frightening in his mannerism. But at least he reminded me that I could leave a Google review.
I have also heard rumours that some students are offered extra benefits in return for a positive review, and such behaviour from them would not surprise me.
Overall there is not anything about Alpha residential that I would recommend, i haven't heard great things about other estate agents in the area either but they can't be worse than this. I have heard positive things from friends that rented privately from landlords though.
If you are a student planning on renting in the Egham area, good luck.
