It all started with Marcel (and what a lovely chap he is) and he got viewings for my property in a matter of hours, Archie showed interested parties around and within a week or so I had an offer brokered by Marcel. Darren was the finisher and nudged all concerned in the most helpful way. Impressed is an understatement - the dream team came through for me and lived up to all those positive reviews that steered me to them in the first place. 23rd Apr 2024 (2 days ago)Both as a sales and letting agent, Martin & Co in Crystal Palace is a pleasure to deal with. Not something I've ever said about any other estate agent or lettings agent/manager. Everyone there is just so nice, efficient, helpful, swift to get back to you - almost unheard of in the property business. There's none of that pushy, wheeler-dealer attitude that so many estate agents have, which makes you mistrust them. On the contrary, their honest, straightforward, personal style makes you feel at ease and well supported. If it weren't for the cheerful, common-sense, pragmatic, can-do approach of James Gough when I was buying my flat, I don't think the sale would have gone through. The vendor and his solicitor seemed intent on hindering the process and pulled out of the sale at one point, which made my solicitor advise me to walk away. But thanks to James, we managed to seal the deal - and get a last-minute lease extension. The fact that he is a solicitor by training is also very reassuring. Normally, I would try and manage my own rental property, but because James was such an ally over the purchase of my flat, I kept the team on as managing agents - and am 100% pleased that I did so. So many little things go wrong or come up, and they just deal with them with the least fuss and expense. It's so nice to deal with real people! Thanks, James, Lucy, Annabel and all in the office! UPDATE 23 April 2024 I have just sold my flat through James and team at Martin & Co.Throughout my 10 years of ownership, they continued to be reliable, friendly, helpful, responsive managing agents. They have proved to be equally good selling agents. I would have no hesitation in recommending them in every department. Many thanks once again to James and the team.

19th Mar 2024 (5 weeks ago)Unfortunately, I have to deduct two stars due to the nightmarish experience with the sellers' solicitors throughout the entire process. Their questionable practices have made the situation incredibly challenging, potentially necessitating legal intervention, which only exacerbates the issue. While it's true that sellers have the autonomy to choose their solicitors, it's reasonable to expect processes in place to ensure they select reputable ones, especially considering the control exerted over buyers to prevent withdrawal before the exchange. On a positive note, Nick/Jamie provided exceptional support and assistance throughout the entire process, even extending his help beyond completion. I wholeheartedly recommend their services to others and would certainly engage with them again in the future, terms and conditions apply*.
