22nd Apr 2026 (12 days ago)Recently sold our house in Aigburth and Venmores did everything they said they would from start to finish. Joe provided excellent advice on our initial valuation and presented the property perfectly. The sales team organised viewings even before we went on the market and always provided feedback promptly and were always available to us. We had a difficult chain but they post sales team were always so supportive and proactive by giving us advice and chasing the sale through. Thanks for all your help, highly recommended!

I actually originally bought the property through them around 8 years ago, so it felt like a natural choice to use them again—and they didn’t disappoint. From start to finish, the whole process was smooth and well managed. The team were always responsive, professional, and happy to answer any questions I had along the way, which really helped reduce the stress of selling. A big thank you to James, Megan, and Chris in particular—they were all fantastic to deal with. Their communication was excellent, and they kept me updated throughout, making sure everything stayed on track. Overall, I’d highly recommend Whitegates to anyone looking to buy or sell a property. A reliable, friendly, and professional service from the team.
19th Apr 2026 (15 days ago)I had an extremely disappointing experience with this estate agent and would strongly advise others to think twice before using their services. I proceeded with a property purchase through them last June, only to discover very late in the process in November—after significant time and money had already been invested—that the property was subject to cladding issues. This critical information was not disclosed upfront, and it was only uncovered during solicitor enquiries close to completion. As a result, I had no choice but to terminate the purchase, losing around £1,500 in the process and substantial amount of distress. To make matters worse, the agency had recommended a solicitor to me to facilitate the process, who is now pursuing me for around £1,400 in fees, despite the transaction collapsing due to issues that should have been identified and disclosed much earlier. This has left me significantly out of pocket through no fault of my own. Dreams and hopes shattered! I formally raised this issue with the agency via email back in November, and to date, I have received no response whatsoever. The lack of accountability and basic communication is completely unacceptable. Overall, this experience has been stressful, costly, and entirely avoidable had proper due diligence been carried out. I am still dealing with the financial consequences months later. I will be posting reviews on other channels too. Avoid this agency at all costs.

18th Mar 2024 (2 years ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

She was incredibly helpful, guiding us every step of the way and making what could have been a stressful experience feel much more manageable. Yasmin was always quick to respond to emails, often replying almost immediately and providing clear, helpful feedback. Whenever we had a request, she handled it promptly and did her very best to ensure everything was sorted efficiently. Her dedication really showed as she supported us through all the referencing and checks right up until the keys were handed over. After the purchase Daisy and Kelly have continued to support with my questions and concerns around those things that you find out only when you get the keys. I've felt supported through the process and after completion. I'm so grateful for the support of such a great team. Highly recommended.
