wanted to write to say how impressed I was with the help, guidance and level of service that I received from Anil at the David Key Harringay. I have to say that until now, my previous experience with Estate Agents had been pretty poor which put me off my property search for a long time. Anil has completely changed my mind and I will definitely be recommending David Key Harringay and in particular Anil to my family and friends for their future purchases.... Read more

My partner and I were moving in together for the very first time so wanted to ensure that our transition into a rented property was smooth and as easy as possible. George Ioannou was our agent and he was brilliant. He helped and supported us at every turn, was very proactive and great with communication. He went out of his way to ensure that everything ran smoothly, offering viewings for my partner and I on 3 different occasions, which it did and we've now landed ourselves the property we wanted with no issues at all. I would very much recommend, George.... Read more

Was looking at a flat they had for rent in Hendon, London. Filled in all forms, to request viewing and they called back the next day - whilst I was at work, so of course I could not answer the phone whilst at work - got home from work and surprise surprise I found an email from these property agents where they emailed me at 5.58pm saying that they request and need me to turn up to the property (I requested) for viewing for 6pm. Giving me TWO MINUTES NOTICE to get to the property. Funny!!!! Funny was, they left voicemail to call back but as I was at work I could not answer a personal call and I was working in an environment where I am talking to customers ALL DAY I could not give my attention to a personal phone call. It was dead funny how they did not not ask where I work, or where I live etc and just ASSUMED that I'd be "free" and would be able to get to a viewing with only 2 minutes notice. Seriously common sense surely applies? I understand you are a business and needs to make money but do your brain should tell you to use your common sense (which should) tell you to give the customer more than 2 minutes notice to get to the property and to double check with the customer first if they are happy with the time and day of the appointment instead of assuming they are and should be free? What if they live more than 2 minutes away? I work at a job where I am in work from 9am until 10pm at night and I work in an area where I have BAD signal at work It also seems these people BRIBE people to write good reviews about them even if and when they write a review lower than 5* they bribe that person to change it to 5*. Just the way these guys have tried to bribe me with an offer of "We will give you so much discount off" for X or Y or Z off if you remove the review and change it. You know what they say, "If it sounds too good to be true" it prob is too good to be true and that there is SOMETHING wrong that they are not telling you about (until AFTER it has been dealt with... After visiting 8 different flats I was about to give up. Luckily, I found an property managed by David Astburys. Since the beginning, they were very nice and responsive. In particular, Yianni helped me through the whole procedure, arranging three different viewings. I managed to sign the new contract and move to the new flat in less than 10 days. Highly recommended! We rented a property from David Astburys for 8 months and got out as quickly as we could. They are an absolute joke of a letting agency - incompetent at best and deceptive at worst. They were absolutely efficient up until the point where we handed over the deposit and signed the tenancy agreement - after which everything went downhill swiftly. On the morning of our move-in day, we received a call from David Astburys letting us know that they had just realised the property had not been professionally cleaned, and asking us whether we would like to have them arrange to have it cleaned before we move in (in the middle of a global pandemic and a national lockdown, how is that even a question?). This was only a few hours before we were due to pick our keys up and gain access to the property. We ended up having to wait outside the property with all of our belongings for 7 hours while waiting for the cleaners to clean the place. To put things into perspective, we were meant to gain access to the property at 11am, and ended up only gaining access at 10pm when the cleaners left. For the record, the property was in absolutely filthy condition before the cleaners came so it is obvious that David Astburys neglected to do the simple task of checking the condition of the flat before our move-in date. Moreover, the property still had black mould and general cleanliness issues after the cleaners left - a problem that was raised with David Astburys for which we received no apology, remediation, or even acknowledgement of the cleanliness issue. This was the first red flag. We also were not allowed to view the property prior to move-in, which we were told was due to lockdown restrictions - fair enough. In lieu of being able to view the property in person, we asked for the property square footage, which we were told (in writing) was 72 square metres. When we moved into the flat, it was clear that the property was substantially smaller than this, and this was confirmed several weeks later when the property was measured for EPC renewal. The actual size of the flat, as documented in the renewed EPC, was 53 square metres. This equates to the property being advertised as 35% larger than its actual size. Again, we raised this with David Astburys and requested a rent reduction as the advertised size of the property was a major factor that we took into account when deciding how much to offer for the flat. However, David Astburys refused to take any accountability for this, stating that this was the measurement listed on the old EPC. We contacted Citizens Advice and were advised that this is an unfair trading practice, and we were well within our rights to pursue legal action against David Astburys. However, we decided that it was not worth the stress and effort and simply resolved to move out as quickly as possible. After we handed in our notice, David Astburys persisted to ask us to let people into our flat for viewings despite us letting them know that we were not comfortable given the Covid-19 risk (this was in December, when the NHS was being overwhelmed by the number of Covid cases). Also, remember that they used Covid-19 as an excuse to not let us view our flat (which was vacant) in person? Massive double standard. Predictably, David Astburys proposing deductions for cleaning after we moved out despite us having cleaned the flat to a markedly higher standard than what was given to us. We did not accept the deductions and let the Tenancy Deposit Scheme adjudicate the case. David Astburys must have realised that they have no leg to stand on here as they did not submit any evidence to TDS to support their proposed deductions, and we have now been awarded our full deposit back. David Astburys claims to be be better than your average (bad) letting agent, but in our experience they fit the stereotype to a T.... Read more

We gave this company a number of our properties to manage and this was done really badly. They ignored maintenance issues, ignore tenant and did not tell me for 6 months that a tenant had not paid their rent. Just because they have the name Hunters means nothing its just a franchise and anyone and i mean anyone can set up. Hunters Stoke Newington Lettings is set up under Negsa lettings which is not even registered with the property Ombudsman so if you lose your money or if your unhappy they are not covered at all by an official goverment body, so they can just ignore you. No reputable agent would not be with a property Ombudsman and if i had known this before i would have run a mile. You have been warned... Read more

Extremely unprofessional. I have my property listed and for sale and looking for a 4 bed in the N8 postcode so thought this agent to have local knowledge and walked in. There was about 8 people inside, not one of which was doing anything other than some office banter between the cleaner and a lady at the back. I stood in front of a man seated at the front desk who couldn't even be bothered to raise his head to acknowledge me. After 30 seconds he looked up and I asked if I could speak to someone regarding sales. He asked me to sit down after eluding to himself being an appropriate staff member. Suddenly the phone rung, he picked it up and started a lengthy conversation with what was clearly not a member of the public as he was saying things like "They are not stupid. They have their own accountants" He carried on speaking very slowly with no urgency whatsoever and no consideration for myself. After 5 mins of what was evidently going to be a lengthy conversationI interrupted to ask him if anyone else could help and he asked an older member of staff to look after me. This man was too busy playing with a toddler who was waiting on a chair and after what seemed to be a 20 second pause reluctantly beckoned me over to sit down. No thank you. If that's the level of professionalism and care they are capable of, I would never trust them with the most important and stressful transaction of my life. Use your own judgement but better to avoid.... Read more

The team at Castles were very helpful right from the beginning of our buying process. So where to begin. To start Castles completely overvalued our property resulting in zero interest. We all want as much as we can get for our homes but a sense of realism is required to drum up interest. 2 viewings took place in the first week to Jewish investors who are never going to buy an overvalued property that cannot be developed further. Since then we had no contact for about 8 weeks except from myself to Castles to lower the price quite dramatically to a more realistic value. No pro-active communication was received from them. 2 supposed further viewings were arranged but cancelled at very late notice. I say supposed because on both occasions no reschedule was requested. The most laughable part is they tried to claim Bruno was waiting outside our property but yet when he phoned 15 minutes late the number on our phone was an office number not a mobile (which you'd expect from someone outside of your property). The quality of the photos taken (feedback received from a variety of sources) are of a poor standard and do no justice to our home. To summarise we are very disappointed in their all round attitude, professionalism and even their local knowledge. Lazy, false promises and lies are our experience of Castles... Read more
