Victoria McNaught-Davis at KFH West Dulwich is an uncaring jobsworth who lost us a house we dearly wanted because she accepted another offer without even talking to us. We were registered buyers with KFH West Dulwich, looking for TWO YEARS for this perfect house. This estate agent couldn't care less about their clients, go elsewhere.... Read more

James King - incompetent at best. I have had two dealings with James King at Jacksons and both left me wondering how he manages to get away with it. Firstly when I was buying a property that the vendor had on with Jacksons, James convinced the vendor to put it back on the market when we were well into the process and waiting for the searches to come back. That move nearly cost the vendor a sale they badly needed. Secondly on another property, James sent this 'URGENT' letter to me, saying that he was working in the area. If that's urgent James, I do worry. When I went into the office to speak to him, his staff didn't have many good things to say about him. I wouldn't trust the guy as far as I could throw him. If you're selling or buying, I would avoid Jacksons if I were you. You might lose a sale due to his arrogance.... Read more

The worst customer service I’ve experienced as a rental tenant. As a rental tenant in the Brixton area, the service myself and my housemates received from the Beresford Residential team has been awful. The fees (set up £350, renewal £300, tenant change £300, check out £240 etc.) are at the steeper end for the area, but would have been acceptable had our property manager made any effort at all to provide a positive customer service experience. Throughout the tenancy she has been rude, condescending and at times aggressive. On the few occasions we have reported problems via our property manager to the landlord we have not felt confident that communications we had asked to be made had been followed through with and strongly feel we have been misrepresented to the landlord. Day to day maintenance issues which should have been resolved quickly have taken weeks, and in the case of our deposit return, circa 3 months. An example – a large ornate mirror was left (not hung) from the landlord in one of the rooms. It was removed at the beginning of the tenancy by Beresford’s contractor, and on receipt of the check in report which listed the mirror, we went immediately back to Beresford to let them know it had been removed and ask them to amend the check in report. Beresford, at the time of check out, have hounded us about this mirror, insisting we pay £100 for it as they cannot locate it. After months of back and forth they have had to drop this – although still protesting against the written evidence provided. I hope they have reimbursed the landlord for the mirror, but I don’t have confidence that will have been the case. I will never rent or consider buying a property with Beresford Residential again, and I cannot stress enough how disappointed myself and my housemates have been with the service we received.... We completed on our flat 2 weeks ago, and from our first viewing of the property back in May to handing over the keys, the team had our backs every step of the way. MONEY GRABBING B@STARDS Having decided to look for a 1 bedroom flat to rent near Crystal Palace I found a decent sized property about 20 minutes walk away through Kinleigh Folkard and Hayward for £850 per month. Not overly expensive I thought. I arranged a viewing with Alex on the Saturday. She seemed helpful (don't they all) and we agreed on a viewing at 11:30am on the Saturday. The Saturday arrived and I didn't want to be late as my journey was an hour and half to get to the viewing. Just as I was arriving at just after 11am at the front door I got a call saying sorry but the viewing has been postponed. No prior notice was given and I was pretty annoyed at the time wasted. I was called back again with a further apology saying that if I would go for a second viewing I would get some discount off of the agency fees. I saw the property for the second viewing and liked it and got the ball moving. NO DISCOUNT WAS OFFERED and I had to part with £656.15 with was for £210 tenant fees and £120 for referencing and the rest towards the initial deposit which still left me with a balance of £2194 before the move in date which wasn't a problem. The contract was for 15 months which I thought was odd and did query this but was told its either 15, 18 or 24 month contract. Upon my final visit just to hand in some more papers and fill out yet more forms I was told that mid contract the landlord now wanted to implement a rent rise but also there was no figure as to how much of an increase. I told them no way and if the landlord wanted to increase the rent he would have to do it after the contract has finished. Ridiculous!!!! Due to my mum's ill health and social services not being able to go ahead with a care package for my mum which had already been agreed with them I was forced to unfortunately pull out of the flat so I can carry on caring for her. KFH still had over a months notice from the date the flat was available to find tenants for this and have so far refused to pay back any of this money. I have been very reasonable with them and said yes they can keep the agency fees and the referencing (£330) and just return the rest (£326.15) which would have gone to the landlord. Instead, they are keeping the lot for their own profit and are showing no signs of wanting to play fair. They are going to find other tenants within the month and charge them another set of tenant fees and referencing so no doubt be quids in. I am in the process of seeking legal representation on this as I was hoping for at least a bit of compassion and understanding. I haven't cost them any money and in fact know that they will make more now. In the meantime. I would recommend to anybody to avoid these people as they seem to be up there with the worst of them.... Very disappointment to let, After providing all the details of our family booked an appointment to view a property in Putney Heath. Placed and offer to take the property, had a call from them after 2 days and the agent from Richmond branch said the landlord doesn't want to let the property to us because we have children. Basically they should have advertised no families and the estate agent did ask all our details before booking an appointment. Very misleading and unprofessional. The night before we received he rejection for some reason the put up the rent from £2250 monthly to £2400 strange, and very disappointed as we lost on other 2 properties we wanted as our time was wasted for no replying to our offer in quick time and manner. I think the landlord is discriminated against the children and they estate agents are misleading, I have reported them to trading standards.... Read more
