13th Apr 2024 (5 weeks ago)Wasted my time, I was interested in one of their properties and tried to arrange a viewing. I made the mistake of agreeing to multiple viewings as well and thought it would be good to see what was in my price range. Five viewings where arranged and after the first which was out of my budget and not really what I was looking for I was informed the rest where cancelled. These viewings were all arranged more than a week in advance. Utterly incompetent. As someone who works with a blue chip retailer who regularly looks at their leases for property, I was especially disappointed their residential service is so poor.
8th Apr 2024 (6 weeks ago)Had a very good experience with Barnard Marcus, one of the letting agents Kate was very friendly and efficient in sorting out a house myself and my house mates wanted. She made the process much easier for myself and my housemates, and was always on hand to answer any questions. Would highly recommend using both Kate and the company.

Particular thanks to Callum, James and Mel for their many kindnesses and excellent communication along the way. We're not planning to move again soon (maybe ever) but would definitely recommend them to anyone in the area. Thank you all so much!

25th Oct 2022 (1 year ago)Sadly I did not have a good experience with Jacksons Streatham. I was promised weekly updates, but rarely got them, often having to chase them myself to find out what was going on. When I did speak to the branch manager he was always very pleasant and enthusiastic but seemed clueless as to why the property was not selling. They appeared to get a very decent number of people through the door to view but were unable, over about 16 weeks, to elicit a single offer. They overvalued the property initially - which I was sceptical about from the start(I am not a property selling novice) - but dropping the price did not seem to have any effect. I appreciate the market has been very unstable over the past few months, but we missed a very valuable window at the beginning of the marketing period in which the flat should have sold quite easily. Ultimately I felt obliged to spend thousands of pounds to get the flat 'staged' (it was empty of furniture) in order to make it more attractive to potential buyers - and they still didn't manage to sell it. Some feedback from the agents who were actually showing the property would have gone a long way to helping me understand why it wasn't selling, when equivalent flats in the area were. I felt I had done everything and more and was demoralised by the whole process. I am still struggling to understand what went wrong, so am not able to apportion blame to any one person - it just feels like a systemic failure at that branch, as I know people who have used Jacksons in other parts of London and got better results. Despite feeling quite depressed about the prospect of the flat selIing at all, I subsequently switched agents and my new agent secured an offer within the space of two weeks. I am still wondering how that could have happened, and am annoyed that I did not go with them in the first instance. You live and learn I guess.

We noticed the friendly and engaging customer service immediately. Our questions are answered quickly and are made to feel a priority. 19th Apr 2024 (28 days ago)Just a reminder to everyone about how Orland Reid tried their hardest to screw me a while back (unsuccessfully). They subsequently also tried to report my negative review to Google to have it deleted (also unsuccessfully). I still feel so angry about this and feel it's important to warn others about the conduct of this agency, even after some time has passed - here's my original review: AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL!!! These guys tried unsuccessfully to retain my deposit, blame damage on me that was not on any inventory report and charge me for "work" needed to rectify this fictitious damage using their own workmen, whose quotes for work were laughably extortionate (so no tender process/transparency and taking a cut, no doubt). I had to go through 3 months of tenancy deposit scheme adjudication to get my money back. Their staff and, importantly their owner/partner, deliberately misled me repeatedly and withheld information throughout the whole process, making it as difficult and long winded as possible. The intention must have been that I'd just get too frustrated and give up? They were also paid by the landlord to act on their behalf but at the same time claim to be totally impartial (which is impossible).They are solely motivated by money - this scamming must be part of their business plan and I cannot imagine I am the only one who has had to go through this unnecessary, time consuming and upsetting process. If I could give them zero stars I would. if I could take them to court to reclaim money for the amount of my time they wasted, I would. It makes me so angry that "Estate Agents" like this can still exist. There are so many better, more trustworthy and honest agencies out there, there really is no need to put yourself through the nightmare of dealing with Orlando Reid. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! You have been warned!

They would have all the compliance issues arranged for us without us worrying. Cristiana, Perry and the team are lovely to work with and never a question go unanswered. Would highly recommend!

23rd Apr 2024 (24 days ago)Both as a sales and letting agent, Martin & Co in Crystal Palace is a pleasure to deal with. Not something I've ever said about any other estate agent or lettings agent/manager. Everyone there is just so nice, efficient, helpful, swift to get back to you - almost unheard of in the property business. There's none of that pushy, wheeler-dealer attitude that so many estate agents have, which makes you mistrust them. On the contrary, their honest, straightforward, personal style makes you feel at ease and well supported. If it weren't for the cheerful, common-sense, pragmatic, can-do approach of James Gough when I was buying my flat, I don't think the sale would have gone through. The vendor and his solicitor seemed intent on hindering the process and pulled out of the sale at one point, which made my solicitor advise me to walk away. But thanks to James, we managed to seal the deal - and get a last-minute lease extension. The fact that he is a solicitor by training is also very reassuring. Normally, I would try and manage my own rental property, but because James was such an ally over the purchase of my flat, I kept the team on as managing agents - and am 100% pleased that I did so. So many little things go wrong or come up, and they just deal with them with the least fuss and expense. It's so nice to deal with real people! Thanks, James, Lucy, Annabel and all in the office! UPDATE 23 April 2024 I have just sold my flat through James and team at Martin & Co.Throughout my 10 years of ownership, they continued to be reliable, friendly, helpful, responsive managing agents. They have proved to be equally good selling agents. I would have no hesitation in recommending them in every department. Many thanks once again to James and the team.
