We sold our flat with the Sydenham branch of Acorn. From our initial conversations about the valuation through to completion, the team (including Abbie, Brendan, Zoe and Josh) were responsive, informative, helpful and friendly. Would absolutely recommend Acorn to prospective buyers and sellers in SE London.
I am renting a property with Acorn and have received nothing but poor service. When paying the deposit I was assured all work would be carried out that was required (loose floor boards, vomit and faeces on walls, severe mould and damp problem) before the moving date, this date came and went with no keys forcing us to stay in hotels until they finally handed over the keys.
We got into the flat and nothing had been done ,not even cleaned professionally despite being part of the fees they charge. After this the flat flooded due to a neighbour leaving taps on, and it's taken 6months for the work to be carried out to fix the damage to the bedroom.
The agency are very poor at replying to emails just get passed between people and have been unprofessional from the start.
Great experience from Tim's team at West Dulwich. We worked with Julian who was helpful, practical and professional throughout. Would not hesitate to buy or sell through them again. Thank you.
Victoria McNaught-Davis at KFH West Dulwich is an uncaring jobsworth who lost us a house we dearly wanted because she accepted another offer without even talking to us. We were registered buyers with KFH West Dulwich, looking for TWO YEARS for this perfect house. This estate agent couldn't care less about their clients, go elsewhere.
Brilliant customer service from the off. So much better than other estate agents in the area we found! A massive thank you to Kayley Hind, she is an asset to the team and went above and beyond throughout every stage of the renting journey to help and guide myself and my friend through seamlessly. We can’t wait to move into our new home!
Avoid at all costs. Save yourself the time and frustration. I'm a landlord, the rental department is very poor.
My experience with KFH Crystal Palace was seamless throughout. It was so quick to book a viewing and go through all the steps once I decided I liked the flat - the team was incredibly accommodating, efficient and responsive, especially Kaan. I'm moving into my new flat today, only two weeks after viewing the property! I would definitely recommend them - they take amazing care of potential tenants.
MONEY GRABBING B@STARDS
Having decided to look for a 1 bedroom flat to rent near Crystal Palace I found a decent sized property about 20 minutes walk away through Kinleigh Folkard and Hayward for £850 per month. Not overly expensive I thought. I arranged a viewing with Alex on the Saturday. She seemed helpful (don't they all) and we agreed on a viewing at 11:30am on the Saturday.
The Saturday arrived and I didn't want to be late as my journey was an hour and half to get to the viewing. Just as I was arriving at just after 11am at the front door I got a call saying sorry but the viewing has been postponed. No prior notice was given and I was pretty annoyed at the time wasted. I was called back again with a further apology saying that if I would go for a second viewing I would get some discount off of the agency fees.
I saw the property for the second viewing and liked it and got the ball moving. NO DISCOUNT WAS OFFERED and I had to part with £656.15 with was for £210 tenant fees and £120 for referencing and the rest towards the initial deposit which still left me with a balance of £2194 before the move in date which wasn't a problem.
The contract was for 15 months which I thought was odd and did query this but was told its either 15, 18 or 24 month contract.
Upon my final visit just to hand in some more papers and fill out yet more forms I was told that mid contract the landlord now wanted to implement a rent rise but also there was no figure as to how much of an increase. I told them no way and if the landlord wanted to increase the rent he would have to do it after the contract has finished. Ridiculous!!!!
Due to my mum's ill health and social services not being able to go ahead with a care package for my mum which had already been agreed with them I was forced to unfortunately pull out of the flat so I can carry on caring for her. KFH still had over a months notice from the date the flat was available to find tenants for this and have so far refused to pay back any of this money. I have been very reasonable with them and said yes they can keep the agency fees and the referencing (£330) and just return the rest (£326.15) which would have gone to the landlord. Instead, they are keeping the lot for their own profit and are showing no signs of wanting to play fair. They are going to find other tenants within the month and charge them another set of tenant fees and referencing so no doubt be quids in.
I am in the process of seeking legal representation on this as I was hoping for at least a bit of compassion and understanding. I haven't cost them any money and in fact know that they will make more now.
In the meantime. I would recommend to anybody to avoid these people as they seem to be up there with the worst of them.
We had a fantastic experience with Aaron, our estate agent at Foxtons. He was extremely helpful and considerate and went out of his way to help us find a flat we loved. Having had very poor experiences with other estate agents in Streatham I'd have no trouble recommending Aaron and Foxtons.
Made an offer on a 1 bed flat on Streatham High Road with Ermal. I am still waiting for a response. Called multiple times and was promised a call back from Max or Chris (Manager) still nothing. Found out flat had been let by visiting Townsend's website. Ermal seemed completely disinterested the entire time showing us round.
I had a really positive experience buying my first flat with Brooks estate agents. I found they had the highest quality properties for sale in the Streatham area and were very proactive in sharing relevant properties. Emma helped me find my place and was incredibly helpful, professional and diligent from start to finish. Once I had found a place she was great at getting things chased and making the process as stress free as possible!
We had a really horrendous experience dealing with Brooks whilst selling our flat. They are quite arrogant didn't have any interest in addressing our issues following a failed sale. Beyond the agent leaving our flat unsecured during viewings TWICE, we felt there was a total lack of supportive and useful communication. Instead we received inconsistent and at times bullish communication from Brooks when the negotiations were at a critical point. They failed to identify the sticking point for the buyer early enough in the process and couldn't negotiate a reasonable solution. We did not feel looked after by them and we would never use them again.
