18th Mar 2026 (9 days ago)Ali at David Harris & Co was incredibly helpful throughout our search. We initially spoke with several agencies and spent around six months looking before making a decision. Ali was the only one who never gave up. He consistently arranged viewings, kept us fully updated on new properties coming to market, and stayed patient despite all our changing requirements. In the end, he found exactly what we were looking for. His experience really shows, and we felt completely confident that we would secure the right property through him. If you’re looking in Finchley Central, he’s definitely the agent to go to.

23rd Mar 2026 (4 days ago)On a good note, the office staff are very helpful and were quick to help and had good communication. On the other hand, had a viewing today at a property and honestly I’ve never had such an experience with a housing agent. I’m still confused to be honest. 1. Attended the property and the agent didn’t even greet or clarify who I was. The first thing she said to me was “You can’t park there please use the parking at the display over there as there’s traffic wardens”. Fair enough and appreciative, once I parked and met up with the estate agent she didn’t introduce herself and she didn’t clarify who I was so I could’ve been a stranger. Basic customer service couldn’t even be met. 2. A viewing has been booked in for a property that is getting work done to it, again… confused. I travelled over an hour to a property that was being painted when I was there so I couldn’t even see the property properly due to all the works going on. (Staff were lovely that were working so not a remark against them but I would hope if you’re going to visit a potential home you would be informed if there’s work going on so you can decide whether it’s worth the trip or not. 3. I’ve been to viewings before and this was honestly the worst experience. I felt uncomfortable from the beginning to the end of my interaction. There was no follow up, no questions just bye and that’s it. The whole viewing was just awkward if that’s the best way to describe it. Thanks to the reception staff that helped me out prior to my viewing and for their kindness and support in answering questions I had previously.

Really nice lady took her time with us I felt no pressure just a nice experience viewing the flat.

4th Mar 2026 (23 days ago)We are an Australian family, that needed to relocate to London for work. As expats, the process of finding a property from overseas is extremely daunting, let alone all the different processes, nuances that might be obvious to a local, but not to a foreigner. As foreigners, we did not have UK credit history or rental history, so we actually failed the third party check, but James reassured us and stepped in when necessary to sort out these matters. Therefore we didn't have to pay 6-12 months rent in advance, which has been the case for others we know. He understood our predicament and assisted us with the process the whole way. He was always transparent and accommodating, providing lots of great tips and advice and responding in a timely manner. We had dealings with other agencies, who were not transparent and really put pressure on us to apply for properties to meet targets, rather than considering our needs. I am very grateful that James honoured/followed through on everything he said to us, and there were no surprises. Even after the signing of contract and we now deal with the landlord directly, he is always happy to respond to any questions I have and provide guidance/tips etc.

18th Mar 2024 (2 years ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

The process with Yolanda was finalised after some delays with the contract including follow-ups regarding utility inclusions. While Yolanda was friendly, more proactive communication would have made the experience much smoother for a new tenant. Glad everything is now sorted and looking forward to the move!
25th Feb 2026 (30 days ago)I wrote the review below some 3 yrs ago and I would now like to update it as follows:<br><br>I have had the unfortunate experience of having to deal with a different Lettings Agent as that property unfortunately falls outside of Neilson & Bauer’s territory.<br><br>This has only reinforced my belief that Neilson & Bauer, led by their down to earth, tell it as it is, legendary, Don Lacovara are THE BEST IN THE BUSINESS.<br><br>I have had to repeatedly turn to Don’s good nature and ask him about the various different and somewhat frustrating approaches and ways of doing business this other agent has and Don has obliged by calmly guiding me through this turmoil.<br><br>I think it is about time that Neilson & Bauer expand their regional reach.<br><br>Written 3 yrs agp:<br>I am always taken aback at how professional, efficient and effective Neilson Bauer are in getting the job done. Don in charge of lettings is my go to person when I need a flat let.
