I had a property viewing confirmed by phone and email, but when I arrived at the property, the agency cancelled the appointment at the last minute. They gave inconsistent reasons for the cancellation, which was frustrating and disrespectful of my time. As someone actively looking for a place to rent, I expect basic professionalism and proper communication. Unfortunately, this experience showed the opposite.

They show a lot more interest and communication is amazing… you feel like you’re in good hands . Fiona has shown brilliant customer care and genuine support. Her experience is very knowledgeable and will absolutely recommend this agency…- 14th Oct 2025 (23 weeks ago)WARNING to all rental tenants. Beware! This company do not vet their landlords or care for tenants welfare, I’d strongly advise you steer clear. They lumbered me with a psychotic landlord, and Instead of dealing with their own dispute with her, left me to deal with an ugly situation they caused in the first place. The episode caused me untold distress and cost me a fortune. I had to move out just to get away from an unhinged landlord, and Portico didn't step in to help me with any of it. I spoke to the so-called 'manager' about it and all he cared about was grabbing a tidy profit from the situation. Even the staff said the landlord was 'trouble' but i'm the one that took the hit. Bad people, bad company, don't grace them with your custom, save yourself and go elsewhere.

Paid £415 holding deposit on 2 Feb 2026 after clearly telling the agent I’d go up to the asking price £1,850 pcm if needed.<br>They kept showing the property and accepted a higher offer while holding my deposit – this goes against the Tenant Fees Act 2019, which says stop advertising once a holding deposit is paid.<br>They never told me about the competing higher offer – I would have matched it or gone higher. Communication was unclear, facts were distorted in their response, and the process lacked transparency and fairness.<br>Wouldn’t recommend if you want a reliable agent.

I was a tenant in one of their properties many years ago and now constantly receive emails asking if I want to sell this property despite only being a tenant.

It is a real contrast to other agencies I have used who seem to put the property on their website and sit and wait for enquiries to come, offering little feedback or insight into viewers or the local market.
18th Feb 2026 (4 weeks ago)Communication overall was poor, and the final sale price ended up materially below what had been pitched and discussed at the outset. More concerning was the conduct from Yaseen, on the finance side, where agreed written terms were later disputed and the matter was escalated unnecessarily, including multiple threats of court action, before the correct position was eventually accepted after some push back. The issue was ultimately resolved, but the process fell short of the level of professionalism I would expect. I would recommend others ensure everything is clearly documented and reviewed before proceeding, if at all.
6th Mar 2026 (15 days ago)We recently sold two properties through Chalk Street Estates- overall had a very positive experience and would recommend this firm to anyone looking to market properties or purchase. The marketing of both properties was excellent. The photography was particularly impressive — very professional, with bright and clear images that really showcased the properties far better than many other listings we saw from different agents. Their pricing was also competitive and reasonable, which gave us confidence in choosing them to market our homes. Throughout the process, the team communicated well regarding viewing requests and follow-ups, keeping us informed at each stage. Unfortunately, there were some aspects outside of their control — particularly issues arising from the mortgage surveyor — which ultimately impacted the final agreed sale prices, bringing them below the initial valuations. Despite this, the team at Chalk Street worked hard to communicate with the rest of the chain and help reach an agreement. We found difficult conversations were handled professionally and very efficiently in what was at the time of our sales a buyers market. We also had an issue with the initial offer being reduced and had to relist the property, but this was handled efficiently and we secured a new offer within a week. Our offers were originally agreed around October, with initial viewings supported by Faye and later managed by Jack. We are very greatful to Jack- selling 2 properties is extremely challenging and Jack was nothing short of a miracle worker when it came to securing offers for both homes at the same time. A true credit to Chalk Street. As we moved closer to completion, Mandy became our main point of contact (around January, roughly eight weeks before completion). We had an incredibly challenging chain, but Mandy worked tirelessly behind the scenes, cross-communicating with all parties involved to help push things forward and encourage completion. We feel this was crucial to supporting completion with multiple agencies, solicitors and buyers involved- this we feel makes Chalk Street a stand out in their field. When we were purchasing our home 5 years ago we did the chasing with solicitors, Mandys involvement really eliminated the stress of it all. We are now in our dream home and cannot thank the team’s professionalism, persistence, and dedication during what turned out to be a complex sale process. If you are looking to sell or buy, they wont let you down :)

From the very beginning, she was incredibly supportive, proactive, and genuinely committed to helping us find the right home. She took the time to understand exactly what we were looking for and carefully shortlisted properties that matched our needs, which made the search process far more efficient and less stressful. Her knowledge of the Edmonton area market was invaluable, and she guided us with confidence and clarity at every stage. When it came to negotiations, she was outstanding. She provided thoughtful advice, handled discussions professionally, and ultimately helped us secure the property on very favourable terms. The process had its challenges and took longer than expected, but the team were supportive throughout. A special thanks to Michael, whose excellent negotiation skills and genuine commitment made a real difference. Highly appreciated. We live miles away and remote sale worked well for us. The process was a success with good communication. Will definitely recommend them.

Kurt is very hands on and will not only help you sell your property but will ensure you receive the care you expect. I cannot speak more highly of him and he has become a family friend. If you need to sell or buy a property and need it to be as stress free as possible, give Kurt a call, he will take as much off of your shoulders as he can. I cannot sell his services enough!
