25th Oct 2022 (1 year ago)Sadly I did not have a good experience with Jacksons Streatham. I was promised weekly updates, but rarely got them, often having to chase them myself to find out what was going on. When I did speak to the branch manager he was always very pleasant and enthusiastic but seemed clueless as to why the property was not selling. They appeared to get a very decent number of people through the door to view but were unable, over about 16 weeks, to elicit a single offer. They overvalued the property initially - which I was sceptical about from the start(I am not a property selling novice) - but dropping the price did not seem to have any effect. I appreciate the market has been very unstable over the past few months, but we missed a very valuable window at the beginning of the marketing period in which the flat should have sold quite easily. Ultimately I felt obliged to spend thousands of pounds to get the flat 'staged' (it was empty of furniture) in order to make it more attractive to potential buyers - and they still didn't manage to sell it. Some feedback from the agents who were actually showing the property would have gone a long way to helping me understand why it wasn't selling, when equivalent flats in the area were. I felt I had done everything and more and was demoralised by the whole process. I am still struggling to understand what went wrong, so am not able to apportion blame to any one person - it just feels like a systemic failure at that branch, as I know people who have used Jacksons in other parts of London and got better results. Despite feeling quite depressed about the prospect of the flat selIing at all, I subsequently switched agents and my new agent secured an offer within the space of two weeks. I am still wondering how that could have happened, and am annoyed that I did not go with them in the first instance. You live and learn I guess.

Grace Foster was also very helpful. When it came to selling, Phil Cantell was of great service, finding the buyer first and then helping maintain good communication with them throughout. Highly recommended. Thanks to all.

Our sale was managed by Amir and Ross and they were both incredibly communicative and responsive, always a pleasure to talk to and I just felt really safe with them. Would definitely recommend them and will use them again in the future.

She over saw the work on my fathers property in Purley and decorated it in a really tasteful way. She has been great with the tenants and is incredibly helpful and hard working. She is a massive asset to Bairstow Eves. I'm not sure why UCLan Animation has come up but this is my work sign in and I'm not sure how to get out of it!! I live in Lancashire and so it was hard for me to visit but I felt safe in Amy's capable hands. She is a good communicator.

22nd Apr 2024 (9 days ago)My experience with oaks has been amazing. Although they initially did my valuation i went with Annother estate agent which a friend had recommended which was a bad decision. However James kept in touch,once out of contract I moved over to Oaks. Michael and sol came to view the house and asked questions. Viewings started relatively quickly and frequently. I received an offer not too long after. Michael held my solicitors to task. He frequently emailed them and kept me constantly updated.The whole process moved swiftly without any issues. I would recommend oaks ,it was been a fantastic stress free experience selling my house with them All in the month of my birthday ! Thankyou Michael and the team.
29th Feb 2024 (9 weeks ago)Terrible agency. Stay away. They let out a flat where the boiler wasn't working from day one of the tenancy. When a call out was made at the weekend on Saturday I was told that it was not an emergency and not having ANY heating/ hot water during Winter with a 3 year old living in the house didn't classify as an emergency so the contractor would only be sent on the Monday, which they then did.

23rd Apr 2024 (8 days ago)Both as a sales and letting agent, Martin & Co in Crystal Palace is a pleasure to deal with. Not something I've ever said about any other estate agent or lettings agent/manager. Everyone there is just so nice, efficient, helpful, swift to get back to you - almost unheard of in the property business. There's none of that pushy, wheeler-dealer attitude that so many estate agents have, which makes you mistrust them. On the contrary, their honest, straightforward, personal style makes you feel at ease and well supported. If it weren't for the cheerful, common-sense, pragmatic, can-do approach of James Gough when I was buying my flat, I don't think the sale would have gone through. The vendor and his solicitor seemed intent on hindering the process and pulled out of the sale at one point, which made my solicitor advise me to walk away. But thanks to James, we managed to seal the deal - and get a last-minute lease extension. The fact that he is a solicitor by training is also very reassuring. Normally, I would try and manage my own rental property, but because James was such an ally over the purchase of my flat, I kept the team on as managing agents - and am 100% pleased that I did so. So many little things go wrong or come up, and they just deal with them with the least fuss and expense. It's so nice to deal with real people! Thanks, James, Lucy, Annabel and all in the office! UPDATE 23 April 2024 I have just sold my flat through James and team at Martin & Co.Throughout my 10 years of ownership, they continued to be reliable, friendly, helpful, responsive managing agents. They have proved to be equally good selling agents. I would have no hesitation in recommending them in every department. Many thanks once again to James and the team.

He has been superb in the sale of our house and went above and beyond to ensure that our sale went ahead. From the beginning to the end he has had a positive outlook. On our viewings he was bright and bubbly and ensured that the viewers were made aware of the benefits of our property,. When we eventually agreed a sale we had a long process due to the fact that the buyers held up matters, however Rhys would always be pressing to try and speed up the process and always kept us up to date and informed. At one stage our buyer went abroad, Rhys was on calls to our buyer at 1030 at night trying to deal with their queries in an attempt to push our sale through. We can’t thank Rhys enough for what he did for us. He is a real credit to his trade and we would throughly recommend using him to friends and family. Again thank you Rhys Henry
