11th Apr 2024 (17 days ago)Story time! We paid a reservation fee of £2,000 for a new build property at a really good price, a bit under the property price. After a few weeks, we had our buyer pull out but managed to find another buyer for our property within a week. Apparently, this was not what the developer had wanted and the estate agent sneakily relisted our property again. This company is full of lies and deception. Please save yourself from it! Finding someone in a week was apparently not enough and we were too slow. Turns out.. Another buyer managed to get the property that we wanted at a higher price - £25k more and we only found out after a week of no replies from this estate agency - we were not quick enough apparently. They offered us another property which was not what we wanted. Bearing in mind, we had reserved this property!!! We decided to fight for our reservation fee back as at no point in time did we ever pull out or wanted to back out. We emailed Acorn and they said they would ask the developer for us. A week of emailing from our solicitor to the developer, it turns out the developer never had our £2k deposit and it was in fact always with the estate agent. GET THIS! Acorn was in fact CC’ed in all those emails. Silence from Acorn but they guiltily gave back our reservation fee back. How embarrassing! There were so many red flags, and we literally went through so much to try and exchange. We kept them in the loop but they were very slow in their replies and it seemed like they were sabotaging us. They wanted a fatter share of the sale! They kept on lying to us and the dates that they gave were all untruthful, they kept stating that we were too slow and that the house was already done but this was a lie. We visited the development many times to see and it did not add up. I hope no one ever goes through the experience I went through! AVOID!!! P.s we’ve driven past the development and in hindsight we are so glad that we did not buy the house. The developer messed up on many things.

25th Oct 2022 (1 year ago)Sadly I did not have a good experience with Jacksons Streatham. I was promised weekly updates, but rarely got them, often having to chase them myself to find out what was going on. When I did speak to the branch manager he was always very pleasant and enthusiastic but seemed clueless as to why the property was not selling. They appeared to get a very decent number of people through the door to view but were unable, over about 16 weeks, to elicit a single offer. They overvalued the property initially - which I was sceptical about from the start(I am not a property selling novice) - but dropping the price did not seem to have any effect. I appreciate the market has been very unstable over the past few months, but we missed a very valuable window at the beginning of the marketing period in which the flat should have sold quite easily. Ultimately I felt obliged to spend thousands of pounds to get the flat 'staged' (it was empty of furniture) in order to make it more attractive to potential buyers - and they still didn't manage to sell it. Some feedback from the agents who were actually showing the property would have gone a long way to helping me understand why it wasn't selling, when equivalent flats in the area were. I felt I had done everything and more and was demoralised by the whole process. I am still struggling to understand what went wrong, so am not able to apportion blame to any one person - it just feels like a systemic failure at that branch, as I know people who have used Jacksons in other parts of London and got better results. Despite feeling quite depressed about the prospect of the flat selIing at all, I subsequently switched agents and my new agent secured an offer within the space of two weeks. I am still wondering how that could have happened, and am annoyed that I did not go with them in the first instance. You live and learn I guess.

29th Feb 2024 (8 weeks ago)Terrible agency. Stay away. They let out a flat where the boiler wasn't working from day one of the tenancy. When a call out was made at the weekend on Saturday I was told that it was not an emergency and not having ANY heating/ hot water during Winter with a 3 year old living in the house didn't classify as an emergency so the contractor would only be sent on the Monday, which they then did.
18th Mar 2024 (6 weeks ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

He has been superb in the sale of our house and went above and beyond to ensure that our sale went ahead. From the beginning to the end he has had a positive outlook. On our viewings he was bright and bubbly and ensured that the viewers were made aware of the benefits of our property,. When we eventually agreed a sale we had a long process due to the fact that the buyers held up matters, however Rhys would always be pressing to try and speed up the process and always kept us up to date and informed. At one stage our buyer went abroad, Rhys was on calls to our buyer at 1030 at night trying to deal with their queries in an attempt to push our sale through. We can’t thank Rhys enough for what he did for us. He is a real credit to his trade and we would throughly recommend using him to friends and family. Again thank you Rhys Henry

24th Jan 2024 (14 weeks ago)We've been in search of a flat for a while, and apart from not being satisfied with the properties, the agent we initially dealt with lacked warmth and didn't seem very accommodating. However, when we visited a flat listed with Next Door Properties, Omar went out of his way to show us around and treated us exceptionally well. He made us feel valued, taking the time to address our concerns and ensuring we didn't feel rushed. His kindness and dedication were so impressive that we decided to choose this property through him.
