5th Mar 2026 (30 days ago)Appalling handling of tenancy deposit — avoid We vacated our property at Masters Court, Harrow on 30 January 2026 in good condition, and over a month later we have still not received our deposit back. The handling of this entire process by Connells has been deeply disappointing. Despite sending multiple emails and attempting to call numerous times, we have received nothing but vague responses saying they are "still liaising with the former landlord." No clear timeline, no transparency, and no accountability. Phone calls have gone unanswered, and no direct contact number has been provided despite requests. The items flagged in the checkout report are standard fair wear and tear under TDS guidelines — minor wall marks, limescale build-up typical of Harrow's hard water, None of these justify withholding our deposit. To make matters worse, wife is 24 weeks pregnant, and the unnecessary financial stress caused by this prolonged delay has had a real impact on her mental health and wellbeing. This is completely unacceptable. We have now raised a formal dispute through the tenancy deposit scheme, which should never have been necessary. We have never experienced such poor deposit handling with any previous letting agency. If you are a prospective tenant — be warned. We would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Claire and her team gave me a very realistic valuation and expectation of what the market was at the time. We set out the strategy to sell the property and the incredibly proactive Emmie got me an incredible offer just a few weeks after putting it on the market. Emmie was incredibly helpful in bridging the gap between me and the buyer and she was resolute and fast in getting the deal over the line to completion, helping me deal with all the parties involved. I am very happy with how it all went.

My inquiries were handled very professionally by the team and they had an impressive portfolio of houses to fit my admittedly specific requirements. A special mention goes to Catherine B for handling my questions so patiently and with an impressive level of knowledge for a young woman! She will do great things in this business I’m sure. Unfortunately I had to defer property purchase this time due to personal financial difficulties but I will be back in future once my affairs are in order.

Zoe, Gene, Kelly and the rest of the team at Hamptons in Kingston kept me and my potential buyers informed and updated both on the phone then followed-up with emails. They were proactive the whole time, provided advice where I needed a steer (I made the ultimate decisions but they helped me make them). They were with me every step of the way. Their commission was competitive and lower than other agents and well worth it considering the service I received. Outstanding service with a personal touch from beginning to end. Kelly even called me on her day off to congratulate my exchange, really kind. Thank you Hamptons in Kingston.

She was so helpful throughout the viewings we did, both being able to answer all our questions on the property and location, but also listening to our concerns and then making sure that subsequent viewings hit the mark. It made the whole process so easy and painless and made the experience so much better then anything we'd had before!

Melroy Kutukawarima my lettings negotiator provided excellent support through the entire process by responding to my emails promptly and answering my queries. The systems that Andrew Residentials have in place for the lettings process are upto date with the latest technology and easy to follow. I first put my property on rent with foxtons. the manager at the Margot told me as this was the second property I was letting with Foxtons there would be no charges for 6months. This was a tactic to get my business as when the tenant was found they only wanted a 6 month let. I was told the next tenancy the discount would be applied. However, when the time arrived Margot stopped responding and then I was told that the deal was finished and they could not uphold this. As they ( Charlie) found tenants I went to foxtons again, big mistake. The tenants were awful and Foxtons did not help at all. Once Foxtons took over £5k for their fees from the rent they did nothing to help the situation with the tenants. The tenants then tried to place legal action based on misrepresentation of the property that Foxtons advertised. When I alerted Foxtons , Foxtons have tried to put the blame back on myself. I have asked for the managers details 3 time via email but still do not get it. I have request a SAR so awaiting this as Foxtons has said I did not inform them that the roof was not demised the flat ( which I did numerous times). All I have asked Foxtons for was to refund me the fees from now til the end of the tenancy so the tenants can leave ( as this is their preference) but Foxtons refuse. Honestly stay away.
