Booked an appointment for 1130 Fri 5 May. No one turned up. Rang office several times. No answer. I was contacted at 1250 to inform me agent was ill and rearrange for a week later. As I had a 2 hour trip to get to Derby, I was dar from impressed. Poor service, left waiting for nearly an hour and a half before someone contacted me to cancel. Guess who I wont be using again.

The service I received from Streets ahead and in particular Taj was outstanding. I came to streets Ahead needing a mortgage on a new property I was buying. My situation was very complicated. I had previous properties in London which had been rented out this made the situation more difficult as one of the property’s was still on a consent to let. Rang this morning after seeing a property on sale on right move, property was under offer. just wanted to see if we could put our name on the waiting list in case it came available. First call asked me to wait and put me on hold for a few minutes and line dropped. 2nd call again same person answered was very rude about the whole thing, did not sound professional at all or enthusiastic. I would never deal with such a company that is so unprofessional and unhelpful and rude.

This is a really good agency who are very helpful in sorting out any problems. I took one of their 2 bedroom properties with a flatmate and the experience with the agency, particularly with Purminder, have been absolutely great. Steve has also bene extremely helpful in genuine and legitimate identification of all problems raised.
The lack of 5 stars is due to the landlord. They need to be more selective with their properties and landlords as our landlord was completely below average. The landlord simply did not look after the house and they would never live in it themselves. We were bombarded by issues when we first moved in such as no fire alarm, boiler not working, dishwasher not working, washing machine with a terrible odor on clothes. Thanks to the agency, the appliances were all changed free of charge, however, it caused huge inconvenience and lots of admin. This landlord either needs to change significantly or not be allowed to own a property in the UK.
All in all, I would recommend this agency as long as they up their criteria with landlords.

Purminder, our contact at streets ahead has been fantastic with sorting out each of issues. Without her, it would have been a disaster so I fully recommend speaking to her when looking for a place.

The agent cancelled a property viewing with only 15 minutes notice because 'they didn't yet have the keys' to a property that was supposedly available immediately, and given my situation (that I had explained to them) I needed to move into somewhere quickly. I had to chase up to confirm the viewing anyway so would have thought they'd have checked they actually had the keys in the time they weren't responding to me. Won't use again.

Easily the worst, rudest company I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. We were lied into a property by one of their agents, asked on the day of moving if we would reschedule to another day, left without electric of warm water for the first 5 days in the property, left without any heating over the months of November-January, all in a property with no locking door, no regard for fire safety, an infestation of silverfish due to escalating damp issues, and a multitude of other problems. It got so bad, we contacted the council, and they served an improvement notice on Streets Ahead. By the time I left the property, the work still was not done.
The last time I posted a public review, my girlfriend and I were threatened with our tennancy to remove the review, one of the several times we were yelled at, threatened and manipulated by these low-lives simply for tellling them there were problems that needed sorting.
As it stands, I have just issued legal proceedings against Streets Ahead to get my tennancy deposit back. They refuse to give it to me, citing many excuses which I can prove to be lies with dated photographs of the state of the property when I moved in (including a human poo in the bathroom). They have since refused to respond to any contact I attempt to make, and have left no option but to take them to court.
I must encourage you, whatever you do, do not rent from these lying, careless conmen.

Addition in response to the business owner. You mistake necessity for willingness. I remained in the property for 2 and a half years due to financial restrictions, something you used to your advantage in your horrendous treatment of the property. As I can provide letters from environmental health showing the landlord accepted liability for not performing necessary works and 2 years of emails that weren't actioned, which part of my claim do you doubt?
If you wish me well then why am I having to pursue my damage deposit through single claim as you refuse to respond to it and release it?
I will happily release all relevant information publicly and link it in future comments if you continue to deny your appalling service. It is all documented!

Thank you all so much for finding me my new home. You were very accommodating to my needs showing me round in the evening so I didnt have to swap shifts. Communication was great and staff very friendly and knowledgeable about the city. Would definitely recommend to people moving into the area.

A very professional service. I used this company 3 years ago and they were outstanding in their letting business. I would never use anyone else. Streets Ahead are miles ahead of your average agent. Definitely 5 stars, as they have earned it.

I found the service provided by Streets Ahead to be very good when looking for a property to rent in Derby. When a property I had shown interest in was taken off the market, one of their agents called to let me know about a new property in the same development that I might be interested in. I booked a viewing for the next day. I made an offer and had it confirmed promptly. The service was very efficient and with good communication the whole process was made much easier and more pleasant by the agent.

I've been with this Letting Agent now for over 4 years now and can throughly recommend them. I needed somewhere at short notice and they pulled out all the stops to get me into the property within a couple of days. All inspections/repairs have been carried out within a reasonable amount of time and the owner Taj is a very approachable, professionalable and friendly guy.

I would strongly discourage any property owners/landlords planning to let manage their home via an estate agent from using Streets Ahead!
I had the most awful experience with this agent, they didn't conduct proper referencing and back ground checks, didn't take out the rent guarantee cover on time, didn't do any property inspections, didn't take action on late rent/no rent payments and lied to hide their failings.
As a result of the bad management by this agent, we ended up with void insurance, massive arrears, non paying tenants, involved in criminal activity living in our property and refusing to leave!
Had to step in to get the tenants out and got our property back in an awful state with damage of thousands of pounds, which was not covered by the supposed rent guarantee offered to entice landlords to sign up!
I wish I did some research into this agent before signing up with them, I just trusted their polished saleswoman Lisa Adams!
You are better off managing your property yourself or go by recommendation from someone trustworthy and absolutely avoid Streets Ahead!
