I was being taken care of by Richard Allen, we had previously used Acorn two years ago and didn't have a great experience but using them again we were assured by Richard that he would personally handle the sell of our house and he did. He communicated everything the whole way through and was able to sell the house within 3 months. Great effort from Richard and the team
Sold two properties through Acorn Catford and have always found the selling process to be well managed and consistent from start to finish. Valuations were accurate and realistic rather than over inflated, viewings were always conducted with adequate notice and respect to the properties and any offers that were put forward to me were backed up with sufficient checks that the buyers were able to buy.
All in all I have been very happy the experience I have had with Acorn Catford and would not hesitate to recommend them as my agent of choice.

Do not rent from this branch of Winkworth, they have been both unnecessarily complacent and deliberately rude. Ursula in particular is abhorrent - she has a habit of lying (even about housing law) - a fact we have information to prove. At one point in her ignorance, she agreed to the fact that they, as a company had treated us immorally, with a smile on her face and her hands behind her head, laughing.
Just one example of one of the many problems that arose: Contractors (with keys to the flat) had once walked in on a housemate totally un-notified whilst they were showering, and announced 'Ursula told us to come at any point during the week because no-one would be home and you wouldn't notice'. On telling Ursula about this incident she responded with a burst of laughter and 'Imagine that, if a contractor walked in and found you naked?!' And then denied that she ever contacted them (a claim they disproved).
They are now attempting to take an unreasonable amount from the deposit - for a majority of claims that are either completely false or a result of a deliberate miscommunication on their part.
Never, ever rent from here.
Edit: Since vacating the property they have contacted many times, having confused the property for various others.

I have rented a flat through this agency since 2007 and can recommend them for the speed with which they get the place rented. The team there now are very fast and efficient, I've been very happy with them.
Never ever go with this agency. Only if I could give a 0. Or negative.
They will make everything so complicated and never ending that you feel frustrated and humiliated. They lied to us multiple occasions and mislead us several times.
The last thing that they tried is to charge us 150£ for turning the heating on. Although we told them there is nothing wrong with the heating, the knobs are missing from the radiators and we need help. They said it is not their responsibility to help us.... Worst agency I have ever been with.
I still have no heating...
Leaders have been fantastic throughout the whole process of letting out one of their properties to me. From the start Billy and Selwyn found me the perfect place and were very efficient in making the process as simple as possible for me. Any issues that I have had Ieva has dealt with quickly and has been a pleasure to deal with.
The initial process to viewing and renting house was very smooth but as soon as moved into the property the service was absolutely horrendous and very stressful. Simple requests were refused, we had to chase for weeks and weeks for basic safety/maintenance items to be done that Leaders told us on day of moving in that they wanted to fix. On asking if we could safely store the landlord’s lightshades as we were bumping our heads on them (and to use our own) our property manager told us ‘no’ and that we shouldn’t have rented the house if they were going to be a problem even though they weren’t in place when we viewed the property! We fed back to management several times on our various issues and they couldn’t care less. I would NEVER use Leaders again.
Very good indeed. Malcolm found tenants for me swiftly, and showed real commitment to getting very nice people, as quickly as possible. I felt he really cared, and he was extremely good to deal with - professional, experienced and friendly, with plenty of good advice to offer. Highly recommended.
Monday we call this agency about a rental flat and they tell us the first appointment they can give us is Saturday as they do not have the keys. We receive an email confirming the appointment. Saturday morning: we arrive to the property and no one is there. We call the agency and they tell us that property was rented the weekend before and they do not know what could happen, but they feel really sorry. Like if that is going to be OK with us after driving for one hour and considering that we have been looking for a flat for over 4 months. Then the guy that gave us the appointment calls us and says he is sorry, but he does not have our name in the system. Just that, not in his system. We forwarded him his own email, but did not dare to reply.
This whole experience has just proved my point that for being a estate agent you just need to have a lot of lack of empathy for people to charge them up to £500 for just showing a flat (plus an extra to favourite you over the other 10 candidates seeing the property while you are busy checking your Facebook) and have no brains at all. Who needs brains just to cash in?
We recently sold a house through KFH and I would wholeheartedly recommend them to others. They were very professional, knowledgeable and always prompt with feedback and updates. Linda in particular was extremely helpful. She gave excellent advice, kept in regular contact and handled the sale brilliantly. We are very grateful to her for all her hard work and we have nothing but high praise for KFH
After three years using their property management service. I’m experiencing a very poor service. You have to chase for response, they do not respond effectively to emails. No one takes ownership of out of office staff workloads.
Big name estate agent, big disappointment for Wimbledon
