If I could have given zero I would have done. Awful service from this company. Once they have you in a property they are no longer interested in you, just your money. They turn up without prior notice and let themselves in. Even when you are in bed. They are rude and verbally aggressive. Don't bother complaining to the management as their daughter runs the place. It will get you nowhere. The owner has even left her own 5 star review on their Facebook page. Their figures never seem right and they try and claim deposits back when you leave a property in better condition. If you want to keep your sanity then do yourself a favour and avoid. Used these once. Never again!!!... Read more

Awful from the beginning to the end, my recommendation is to avoid them, and 0 is the number that better describes our experience. 1 We were interested in renting a property so we called the agency to know if it was still available and payed the deposit at the phone. The day after they told us that another person had paid for the deposit as well. We were moving from London to Chester an having another viewing would have meant holidays/days off to take.. Luckily this issue was fixed in few days and we rented that property, honestly I don’t know what happened, if somebody else really paid the deposit or they simply messed up. 2 The referencing process took around 10 days because the agency they use (Let Alliance) didn’t do anything for a week, really nothing. They didn’t email or call anyone, after a week they suddenly wanted everything to be answered ASAP. 3 The agent who showed the property (a male one, very nice, I can’t remember his name) called sick and no one in the office care about going forward with the contract and finishing on time. Even if we called everyday, they simply didn’t share the informations and didn’t help each other in the office. We paid the deposit on the 5th of January and we were struggling to have the keys on the 21st even if we did everything straight away.We had to sign the last things on the last day, with a lorry full of our forniture outside. 4 We had to subscribe an insurance with Let Alliance even if it wasn’t in the contract, but because it’s “their policy”. Of course it wasn’t written anywhere or previously mentioned. It was too late to look for other properties. 5 Once we left the property we had to wait 18 working days to have the deposit back. There weren’t any issues, they simply forgot about it.... Read more

The daughter of Northwood Chester (who works there too), rented my mother's flat to supposedly live there herself. It came to light nearly 2 years later this girl had been secretly subletting it out on Airbnb practically from the start and making a tidy personal profit of £1,500.00 (pcm). She's doing the same thing with other properties too, maybe even yours, best you check, they're all totally untrustworthy. Just read some of the other reviews on here and noticed that a few of them are actually written by staff or friends of the staff! One in particular , Chris Scorochy, has given glowing references to both Northwood and Humphries (same company), Chis happens to be the boyfriend of Katie Cameron who between them have been running the Airbnb scam. Katie is the daughter of Jim and Helen Cameron who own this whole dishonest empire. Don't touch them with a bargepole and please don't be fooled by their sleek sales chat.... Read more

Northwood has a professional looking website and office & the team are friendly and welcoming. However, our experience during our tenancy from organising guarantors to ceasing our contract has not met our expectations, unfortunately. I understand the office has undergone a move over the past few months, however from the onset of our contract in July 2018 with them, communication was repeatedly a problem. I'd email about something with one person, then someone else would follow it up but there would have been no hand-over between the two members of staff. This meant no-one knew what was going on and you'd have to re-explain multiple times, causing much frustration. So much back-and-forth and miscommunication with replies to emails taking anything up to a week which obviously this day and age is completely unacceptable. We have been relatively low maintenance tenants, paid rent on time every time, allowed access to the property upon request and have left the property in an excellent condition after using the recommended cleaning provider. We hope communication is something you will endeavour to improve for future tenants. Sometimes a mere "we have your message, we will reply soon", is all you need for reassurance that our business is important.... Read more

Used to rent out our flat with northwoods and they were so lax in their professional standards. When we took our property back we have found so many things wrong ( that cannot be put down to fair wear n tear) So much so that we are going through their complaints process ( which is waste of time tbh as its internal ) & are now going to ombudsman. Steer clear is best advice... Read more

I cannot rate the service received from Abbie at Northwoods more highly. Abbie is so friendly and professional, she keeps you informed every step of the way. She has secured a fantastic tenant and has ensured that the whole process was smooth and efficient. As landords who live some distance from our property she went above and beyond to support us through what can be an extremely difficult and challenging process. She liaised with our previous tenants and was the intermediary who supported both parties. She arranged for contractors to carry out remedial work so our property is in the best possible condition. We have had experience of other letting agents and Northwood have given us the best service by far. Thank you Abbie , we will always be grateful to you.... Read more

Reluctant to even give one star!! Horrendous service from the moment we signed up with them! Promised things would be in the property when they wern’t, moved Into the property when it wasn’t In a clean state (sewage smells from toilets) dirty washing machine etc and then didn’t do anything about it. Really bad service when on the phone, didn’t want to speak to us, not friendly, made false promises of calling us back and didn’t. When we were moving out we gave 2 months notice, made us pay full rent till the end which is fine but I asked to be notified 24 hrs in advance for when people view property. Got told one hour prior on a day I was very poorly and they clearly could not care less. I don’t believe our deposit has been protected in the deposit scheme as have had nothing back from them only an email from Northwood staring they are taking £100 From us for cleaning costs!! Pretty disgusting considering we moved into a dirty Property! Couldn’t be bothered quibbling it, and found it quite Rude that they didn’t even ask us if this was ok. I advise everyone never to use this agents awful awful awful and so glad we’ve now bought a home!... Read more

All documentation has been sent in plenty of time and we have had no reason for complaint. I would give 0 stars. We also had unauthorised entry to our property, and overcharging of our last rent of which they tried to charge us to give the money back! We had to have a 'light clean' expense taken out of our deposit on moving out, one week later they tried claiming other expenses AFTER the pictures were sent proving only a light clean was necessary. 3 weeks later and no sign of deposit Will never use again Tenants avoid at all costs.... Illegal entry into property, gave plumber keys and tried to get into the property while I was in bed home alone! No notice or permission to enter property. When I moved in I was told everything was fine but the boiler was leaking from the top and unsafe for living in, no hot water or heating for 2 weeks they told me people would be out but when I called again they said no-one had agreed to it. Terrible terrible tenants.... Read more
