Yet another pathetic business that can't even handle its own affairs, relying instead on utterly incompetent third-party providers who couldn't care less about their so-called 'customers.' They have the audacity to dictate appointment times that solely benefit them, with no regard for your schedule or needs as a customer, not even to find a meeting and reasonable ground. And don't expect any courtesy calls or notifications when they inevitably fail to show up on time - you're just expected to wait around like a fool until they show up, even if it's in the middle of the night! It's an absolute disgrace, and their complete disregard for basic CRM and CS is utterly revolting. ????????????... Read more

Do not ever buy or rent anything from this association. You will be very sorry. Drug use antisocial behaviours and staff who will lie and try to force you out of your home if you raise any concern about it. Non existent repairs. Don’t respond to communication. Pest infestation left for several years. Non compliance with the housing laws. Worst housing company by a long way. Do your self a favour and stay away.... Read more

Worst Housing association to have ever existed. They Send their repairs team, which have no clue what they’re doing. Once they’re not able to repair they mark it as unable to gain access. Can’t afford to provide any repairs and will take them weeks/ months to repair anything... Read more

Update. Having "discovered" that their forced saving (being run by their "accountant") scheme is/was illegal back in 2018 - they now claim they don't have one. The wording used back then was "if you don't use our 'voluntary scheme' you might not be able to afford our housing. Following my protest - the "accountant" said "Look! Do you want this property or not?" So yes...as they now claim - they don't have a savings scheme ???? The " saving" scheme they don't have comprised - they take some of your money (weekly) IN ADDITION TO RENT for the purposes of offsetting their (possible) costs with regard to "universal credit". (Their words not mine) Interest earned on these savings (for the life of your tenancy) IS NOT YOURS. THEY KEEP IT. DONT SIGN ANYTHING UNTIL YOU HAVE LOOKED OVER THE PROPERTY ON OFFER THOROUGHLY. THIS APPLIES TO ANY AND ALL PROPERTY RENTALS REGARDLESS OF AGENCY. ITS JUST GOOD SENSE. Some organisations in the past have not permitted a full look over without you signing the lease first. If Origin housing WERE that type of organisation - then you would be wise to choose another organisation. I was coerced into signing. My naïvety I know. When I went to take a thorough look at the property it DIDNT CORRESPOND TO THE ADVERT. Specifically it had electric not gas. I immediately wrote that it wasn't what I had agreed to and returned the keys. They took me to court and got 1 month's rent from me (but none of the "additional savings") That has been my experience. Perhaps their policy has changed. But, even though I didn't go ahead with the tenancy, they took direct debits from my bank account 3 weeks running. Despite my having written and hand delivered information that I was not a Tennant. No apology. Just silently taking my money. 2 directors of this "charity" receive remuneration (according to companies house and other internet searches) in excess of £50,000 per year and add expense accounts in addition. At one point there was a rumour (I don't know if it is true) that a member of Camden council was a director of Origin. Origin group has gone through several name changes since 2008 according to my research. I find this interesting. As I discover more, perhaps I will update this review. Or find a more suitable location for publication. Last - despite this review being published and available for 5 years - origin have never made a comment or denied that you can't get a rental unless you cooperate with their forced savings scheme and that Origin benefits from the interest accrued. **** BUT **** By my renewing my review - they have taken notice. Look at how many satisfied customers reviews they have if you can find any. If you can't - ask yourself why? You have rights. If Origin continues with the practices of the past - then you are better off going somewhere else and/or recording conversations and reporting them to the media as the ombudsman seems powerless.... I see all the poor reviews so wasn't holding out much hope. But was pleasantly surprised. I called about a maintenance issue on behalf of an elderly client. I was called back within 10 minutes, issue was solved same day. Thanks so much. My client is ecstatic n finally able to use his shower. Great job guys,, very grateful ????... Read more

Don’t even bother. Most useless housing people ever. Never help. Neighbourhood management literally IGNORE you. Everything is falling apart, maintenance are sent but don’t fix it as they don’t have a clue, but mark job as done. I had a server flood over a year ago, still asking for things to be fixed from it. One of the most awful organisations of any sort I've ever dealt with. Buying a shared ownership home thru Origin Housing has been a HUGE mistake that I deeply regret . Origin housing do not care about the welfare or safety of residents. They have left us in horrendous situations and conditions. They fall below all decent standards. It's heart breaking and staggering to see how families and people are treated by Origin Housing . Camden Council and everyone involved should be ashamed. PLEASE AVOID at all costs. Leaving a review for a friend that rents from you in the Camden area. My friend has health issues and has tried to arrange for months to get someone in your company to come inspect the property so can move out. It’s costing my friend money on utilities that she would not otherwise need to pay if things was finalised! so can move without so can move somewhere that’s not as polluted and less built up! This would help my friend so is able to move BUT Zero responses and broken promises! It’s impacted upon my friends health and is At breaking point!! You need to consider ramifications upon tenants!
