I’m a current tenant and have been left with damp and a hole in the roof of the property for 3 years.
There is a hole in the patio doors that forms a wind tunnel and my garden shed is a water feature. I was also left with no heating downstairs for the whole of December and January after a burst pipe and nobody was sent round to reconnect. The staff here ignore all calls and emails and in my opinion are extremely in helpful. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

Rang twice to arrange a viewing on a rental property.
Did not get a call back at all.
Would not recommend to potential landlords. Disgusting ..

By far the worst management company we have ever dealt with over last 10 years ! Absolutely useless when trying to get any property matters sorted. Always full of excuses - never return phonecalls or e mails.
Stay well clear!

Unbelievably terrible service: Mardens were our letting agents for a while - they very rarely answered emails, did not return calls, did not provide paperwork or give us readings for services etc., did not forward bills for maintenance which then became outstanding debt to us of which we had no knowledge, left our ground floor flat completely unsecured for a week with windows wide open, did not keep proper inventory and our furniture was removed for which we never received compensation. Truly dreadful communication! We also bought a property through them and our solicitor also became completely exasperated by them - thank goodness we have changed to another agents who are fantastic - doing all of the above very efficiently and communicating with us regularly.

By far the worst estate agent I have ever used!!
Nothing but issues from the word go even before I signed the tenancy. I paid six months rent upfront and I'm still waiting for maintenance to be done on my property that was supposed to be done before I moved in!
I currently have no hot water in the kitchen or bathroom taps and no extraction fan and a broken toilet. I've called three times in the last three days to be consently ignored and told someone will call you back never happens.
I can see from the reviews that some of then aren't even real. Save your money and use a different agency a more professional one that's able to do what they say on the tenancy.

I found everyone at Simon Marden to be professional but friendly with it. I was selling remotely and relied on them to handle everything in my absence, which they were more than happy to do - including little things that weren't strictly their responsibility. After the sale was completed, Peter offered to pop around and get me the final meter readings which is typical of of their helpful attitude. A nice outfit with a lot of local knowledge. Would use again. p.s. This isn't my real name - surprise! - just something I use for Google.

Have rented from them for 6 years and still are we also sold our house through them and they do a fantastic job. If ever you have any query it's get dealt with straight away I would recommend these to anyone

Extremely impressed with the whole team at Simon Marden, they are very friendly and approachable - both sales and lettings. . Everyone in the office is always happy to help and never too much bother. I currently rent through them and have always had any issue dealt with in a timely manner. I would much rather stay with Simon Marden if I was to ever move as my experience has been much better than any with previous agents.

This agent is by far the best agent in Hailsham.
We brought a house through them and have nothing but praise for them.
They kept me and my agent fully updated throughout. Nothing was of a problem for them, not even when I wanted to view the property for the 3rd time with 5 of my family members. they were extremely accommodating. unlike other agents I have dealt with in Hailsham.
Peter was great, kind and helpful from the first viewing to the end. Cherry also was great, everything was dealt with in the upmost professional and friendly manor and I would not hesitate in recommending this agent to my family and friends, we will defiantly be using them in the future.
Keep up the good work and we hope to deal with you again soon .
