I dealt with various members of Samuel Estates but it was initially Dan Jumeau who was my contact point. Dan was always polite, helpful and informative when it came to re-letting out my flat which was in a bad state and in need of a complete refurb. Dan provided me with contact numbers of companies who could do the work and would follow-up with me as well. Dan took a large quantity of photos of the inside of the flat when it was empty as I could not visit. I felt he very much went the extra mile. I much appreciated his help in turning the flat around into a lettable state and would highly recommend Dan.

The reasoning was that Samuel Estates offered a personal touch.
My first contact was Dan Juneau.
I don’t live on the mainland and was delighted to speak with Dan who I found to be very open and professional, this without a meeting.
When I met with Dan and the team, I was very impressed with the great atmosphere and attention to detail they provided.
As a new Landlord with a couple of properties , I was taken by the hand regarding legal matters and how they would assist me in managing my houses.
The properties were let quickly and the team have given me good advice on matters arising from tenants request.
Further members include Chi who I speak with property issues , Luke, Adam and Amber.
Samuel Estates is the perfect company for me.
I feel that the top management are doing a superb job and that their influence has drawn in a great bunch of polite and helpful individuals .

Cannot recommend Samuel Estates enough! Charl was there from the beginning with us, making the (nerve-racking) experience of buying our first property that much easier and seamless. Nothing but positives for me.
As a tenant, they were always hyper-responsive to issues and made sure that they were fixed quickly and properly (not that issues arose very often with the property because it was well managed).
When the time came to buy the property, they were nothing less than superb in keeping the seller advised of what I was doing, and keeping me advised of how things were proceeding from their side.
I know that private managing agents often get bad publicity, but I can say without any hesitation that I would heartily recommend Samuel Estates, both as a tenant and as a leaseholder.

I owned properties in Battersea and rented them out from 1997 until now.
Up until 2016 I would not recommend any of the local estate agents to my friends. In fact quite the reverse!
In 2016 I became acquainted with Samuel Estates. Samuel Estates managed my properties and have now sold them for me.
They held my hand from start to finish.

Unfortunately don't remember agents name or maybe thankfully! Rasist, arrogant and shouting over me over phone conversation. British who forgot that immigration is bringing money into especially London and letting market. The fact I want to view the property doesn't mean I will rent it bit questions asked were like in an offer form which is normally done for landlord. Mate do you want to ask for my shoe size too? Or anything else? You need to relax and listen to your potential client. Grow up!

When I was searching for a new flat ( October 2023, apologise for late review), I found myself in a challenging situation. Dan, the estate agent I met during a viewing, was not only nice but also incredibly professional, offering valuable advice throughout. His assistance didn't stop at the viewing. The staff are unprofessional shouting on the phone and don't let people talk, they need to be trained better. The expectations for rent they are unrealistic they ask for 105.000 £ salary combined for the people rent a 3 bed property. When my husband call they ask for 90.000£ .

Ryan Chemaly brings utter shame to this Estate Agent with his lies and arrogance. He told us we had to leave, weeks before our section 21 notice had expired, along with many other rude intetactions from him. Shameful, utterly corrupt and dusgusting behaviour from someone who knows legally, this was totally illegal to do in the UK. Ryans narcissistic behaviour towards women is absolutely horrifying, and i cannot comprehend, why anyone would want someone like this, representing their business.

Illegal Gas Supply, Sewage Issues, Unauthorized Entry, Leaking Ceiling and Rude Staff
If you are thinking of renting a property through Samuel Estates - I can only encourage you to look elsewhere. I have been in my property for less than 5 months and since that time:
- The gas supply was shut off leaving me without heating and hot water as the supply to the property was found to be illegal and unsafe.
- The property was entered without permission from the landlord's team.
- Raw sewage issues leaving the driveway covered for days.
- A leaking ceiling, leading water to enter the property.
- Months to find out and set up utilities.
- Asked to take out insurance on the landlord's behalf.
- Broken fridge.
- 2 Months to fix entry system issues.
And the list goes on.
I rented a “newly” refurbished property from Samuel Estates back in December and since then issues have not ended. The most shocking being when chasing Samuel Estates to let me know who my utility providers are months after moving in, my gas supply and next doors being shut off without notice by the gas network - as it was an illegal and unsafe supply.
Leaving the property without heating and hot water. Where Samuel Estates only solution was to find short term accommodation at our own cost or ending the tenancy. They did the bare minimum they could in the situation. I approached Samuel Estates with solutions to get hot water back into the property which was when my property manager Luisa continued to raise her voice down the phone yelling “oh my god” and demonstrating a clear lack of professionalism and inadequacy in dealing with the situation - or having to support further than the absolute minimum they could do. Samuel Estates conveyed they saw a kettle and a bath as a suitable source of hot water and when talking to another property manager Steve my complaint was minimized when being told “well i grew up in a house without hot water”.
Only when Lewsisham council stepped in informing Samuel Estates and the landlord that this issue would warrant likely legal action did the approach change.
I have had to continually chase Samuel Estates for responses to emails and issues. Even when raising a formal complaint about the conduct of their staff and the property being entered without my knowledge, my email went unanswered for two weeks. I again had to chase to even get a response to this.
I am informed that each property manager deals with over 150 properties each. Which goes some way to explaining the below then satisfactory service. But it is clear to me Samuel Estates have an incredibly poor systemic attitude towards tenants and have little ability in taking issues seriously and handling them professionally and maturely when they arise . When raising an issue on the phone, Luisa, my property manager laughed down the phone. Leading me to ask for the matter and her conduct to remain professional.
If you are thinking of dealing with Samuel Estates I would recommend setting your expectations very low to avoid disappointment. The above is only a very small account into the enormity of failings I have experienced and continue to experience.

The property that we were renting was managed by Samuel Estates and our property manager was excellent - he was responsive, professional and helpful. When we moved in, they were also great to deal with.
However when we moved out and property viewings began, the agents sometimes failed to tell us when a viewing had been cancelled and on one occasion turned up and claimed that we’d agreed to a viewing, which we hadn’t. This wouldn’t have been as much of a bother if we weren’t working at home and trying to accommodate viewings.

I rarely submit a review but my recent experience with Samuel Estates compelled me to make an exception. I have contracted with Samuel Estate for some 20 years now on a tenant find basis for my rental properties and have never been disappointed. The process is fully managed to sourcing new tenants, arranging agreements and vetting potential tenants. Each member of the team strives to understand your requirements in an honest and professional manner. Utmost to the fore is their communication, accessibility and support resulting in the placing of exceptional tenants for me over these years.
Recently as a result of the pandemic, we decided to relocate and our obvious choice was Samuel Estate to handle the sale of our home. An extremely stressful time considering that we were also moving abroad. The initial advice given was let the professionals do their job and advice well given as we secured a quick sale which would not have been possible without Paul Ahern. Everything went smoothly from the outset including a high standard of brochure/website photographs, showings and feedback. Once the sale was agreed Paul’s efforts did not cease and managed the full process, liaising with solicitors and buyers to the final steps needed to complete.

Estate is run by professionals. If you view and like any property through them, then just fulfil mandatory documents from your end and rest will be smooth process through Samuels. Stefano from Colliers Wood branch was very helpful in finding me rental property I was after. Also, the branch staff I came across related to documentation were very welcoming and available to help.

I feel compelled to write a review for my lettings agent, Samuel Estates.
I have been using Samuel Estates for over 16 years now, on a fully managed/ tenant find basis for my buy to let flats in London and I can honestly say they have never let me down.
They are always friendly, honest, helpful, polite and highly professional in their lettings management business.
They treat both myself and my tenants with respect and empathy and are very responsive whenever there is an issue to be dealt with.
This approach leads to happy tenants, many of whom have been in my flats for years at a time.
Samuel Estates vetting process in sourcing me new tenants whenever necessary is also excellent and in 16 or so years I've never been let down by any of my tenants.
I cannot fault Samuel Estates for their honesty and professionalism and they always go the extra mile to help me.
As a customer I feel valued and supported. Both of these things are so important in this day and age.
Thank you Paul, Chi, Ryan, Stefano and the rest of the team for your care, concern, support and efficiency.

Disappointed by the service. After I confirmed I was taking the flat, I asked Hastie if we could set one more appointment so I could take some measures and she said she was too busy. That's the last I heard from her. I asked for a number of repairs to be done, they were agreed, but when I took the keys nothing had been done. I asked them again to do them, they did less than the minimum. Some of the repairs/cleaning I will end up doing myself as Samuel Estates are clearly not caring. The previous tenants also left some items in the flat and Samuel Estates told me I could discard them myself. The management company for my previous flat was amazing compared to Samuel Estates.

The best estate agents I have dealt with! The process of renting a new flat has been incredibly smooth thanks to Stefano who has been fantastic. He went out of his way to answer all of our questions and always got back to us quickly. The referencing and signing of agreements etc was very simple and I would recommend Samuel Estates to anyone.

I recently moved into my first one bedroom flat, having previously only lived in shared flats. Bit scary of course - but I found a lovely place managed by Samuel Estates, and made a rental offer immediately after viewing. I did need to chase a few times to get all the required information & details on time (likely due to the pandemic!), but the staff is lovely and helpful - particularly Jessica and Chi. They manage the property as well, and arranged very quickly for two minor issues to be fixed when I flagged them after moving in.
