Avoid these property agents they are extremely unprofessional and do not care about other people's time

- 4th Sep 2026 (20 days ago)Dixons is definitely a capable estate agent with good expertise in this field.<br><br>To be honest, my initial experience with Dixons wasn’t very impressive. I had more or less given up and was simply waiting for my fixed-term contract to expire so that I could appoint another agent. Looking back, I think it may have been more down to how my sale was being managed at the time, as I didn’t feel that my expectations and concerns were fully understood.<br><br>Coincidentally, I spoke to Sarah Blair about my experience and how dissatisfied I was. She was genuinely surprised and very keen to put things right for me. She made a very valid point that she didn’t know I was unhappy, and if I didn’t raise my concerns, how would they know?<br><br>Once Sarah took over responsibility for my sale, she really made an effort to turn things around. She looked at everything, from the pricing to the listing, and within just a few days we had received three offers. She went the extra mile to maximise the offers and achieve the best possible result for me.<br><br>Throughout the whole process, Sarah kept me constantly informed, which was important to me. She discussed everything with me, gave me good advice and was always very helpful, professional and approachable, and she always returned my call quickly.<br><br>Although I definitely feel I started off on the wrong foot with Dixons, my experience changed completely once I raised my concerns and Sarah became involved. I would happily use Dixons again in the future, particularly if I could have someone like Sarah looking after my property.<br><br>Thank you, Sarah, for turning my experience around and for all your hard work.

14th Sep 2026 (10 days ago)I would not recommend Oakmans based on my experience.<br><br>I moved out of my property on 28 August 2026 and completed the checkout process properly. I handed my keys back in person at around 9am, the keys were scanned and photographed, and I signed the handover confirmation. I also completed and personally handed in the Deposit Release & Outgoing Services form on the same day.<br><br>Oakmans subsequently confirmed to me in writing that “the handover has been completed.”<br><br>My tenancy deposit is £1,125, and I have still received no clear update about when it will be returned. I have contacted them by email but have not received a response from the deposit team. When I called the office, I was told that deposit matters could not be discussed over the phone.<br><br>What is particularly frustrating is that I have followed the procedures Oakmans themselves provided, yet I am being left without any information about my money.<br><br>The new tenants have already moved into the property, so I expected the checkout and deposit process to be dealt with promptly.<br><br>Very poor communication and customer service. I simply want a clear explanation of the status of my £1,125 deposit and when it will be returned.<br><br>I would strongly recommend keeping written records of everything if you are renting through Oakmans.

16th Sep 2026 (8 days ago)??????????<br><br>We’ve had a really positive experience with Tom Smallwood at Oakmans from the initial valuation right through to getting both of our properties on the market.<br><br>Tom has been friendly, professional and really easy to deal with throughout. He took the time to explain everything clearly, listened to what we wanted and never made us feel pressured. We were particularly impressed with how quickly everything was organised and how well the properties were presented once they went live.<br><br>There were a few small tweaks we wanted making to the listings after launch, but Tom was approachable and helpful in getting these sorted for us.<br><br>Selling two properties at the same time felt quite daunting at the beginning, but Tom has made the process feel straightforward so far. We’re really pleased we chose Oakmans and would happily recommend Tom to anyone thinking of selling.

However, they put me in touch with their mortgage broker, Ricky Parmar, to help with my mortgage application, particularly as my credit history wasn’t perfect.<br><br>From the outset, I found Ricky to be extremely professional, helpful and reassuring. He talked me through the whole application process, found a specialist lender suitable for my circumstances, and helped me navigate the numerous queries that came back from the underwriters.<br><br>There were several points along the way when I worried that something might throw a spanner in the works, but Ricky was always reassuring and helped put my mind at ease. Whenever I emailed him with a question or concern, he responded very quickly and kept me informed throughout.<br><br>I’m delighted to say that I now have my formal mortgage offer, and I’m extremely grateful for Ricky’s help in getting me to this point.<br><br>I would highly recommend Ricky to anyone looking for a mortgage, particularly if your circumstances aren’t completely straightforward and you need someone knowledgeable and supportive to guide you through the process.
