11th Jun 2026 (18 days ago)My experience with Barnard Marcus estate agents is with their lettings department in finchley N12.<br>Having a number of properties in North Finchley I have been dealing with their lettings manager for the past 7 or 8 years.<br>What I like is the strong understanding and relationship with the same person for the whole timep. The lettings manager Linas to be very understanding of my requirements and very personable to deal with and I find him to be very efficient in his job.<br>All the rentals which I have given to Linas he has obtained good quality tenants within aabout two days and most recently within half a day.

Wasn’t really pushy or salesy! He helped us a lot with the house search and was quick to reply whenever we had questions. Made the whole process way less stressful. Would definitely recommend him if you’re looking in the area

She managed to get me a viewing for a highly sought-after flat when slots were very limited, and gave me some great advice along the way. In the end, we got the flat!<br><br>Pam is not only professional and efficient, but also genuinely positive, friendly, and human. She made what can be a stressful process feel much easier and more personal. I’d highly recommend her to anyone looking for a new home.

I couldn't have asked for better one-to-one communication and reassurance from Imran, who deals with lettings.<br>I was initially hesitant and wondered whether using a smaller, independent company was the right decision to find a tenant, as I had previously used larger agencies such as Foxtons and Chestertons. However, Rochester Place has been outstanding.<br>Their communication has been excellent throughout, always responding promptly and providing reassurance whenever needed. They also offer access to an affordable maintenance team, which has been a real benefit.<br>Rochester Place advertises on Rightmove just like the larger agencies, so choosing a smaller company certainly doesn't mean compromising on exposure. In fact, the biggest advantage is the personalised, one-to-one customer care they provide.<br>Thanks to their efficient service, they found me a tenant within just a few weeks. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Rochester Place to anyone looking for a professional, responsive and reliable estate agent in NW1. James helped sell my mum's property in 2022 and Huw (& Max) have now helped me as a property owner renting her flat for the 1st time. They were kind, friendly, diligent, well informed, responsive and especially patient with me in this process and I could not be happier with my tenant. I feel like they really listened to my specific needs. Would highly recommend.

19th Jun 2026 (10 days ago)Very disappointing experience.<br><br>I paid a holding deposit, completed the referencing and background checks, and was sent a draft tenancy agreement to sign. I was also contacted and informed that everything was fine and that the final contract would be sent shortly.<br><br>Based on these assurances, I gave notice to my current landlord to vacate my existing property.<br><br>After waiting for around two weeks, I unexpectedly received an email indicating that the property was still available. It appeared that the property continued to be marketed despite my holding deposit having been paid, the referencing process having been completed, and a draft contract having already been signed.<br><br>What was most concerning was the lack of communication. At no point was I proactively informed that there was an issue or that the tenancy might not proceed. Had I not received that email and followed up myself, I could have been left without confirmed accommodation after already serving notice on my current home.<br><br>This situation caused significant stress and uncertainty and could have had serious consequences. I would strongly advise future tenants not to give notice on their current property until they have a fully executed tenancy agreement and written confirmation that everything is finalised.

Acted for me many times over the years, most recently on a somewhat complicated sale where they negotiated the transaction professionally and competently from marketing through to completion, went the extra mile to assist as much as possible throughout the process. Highly recommended!
